In the past, all Football players resided in an area called Nittany Apartments - which is adjacent to the football facilities. Just learned from a resident worker, that all Freshman players are now being housed in East Halls. Seems odd, and I'm just wondering if anyone here knows why??
East Halls have been getting totally redone the past couple of years to be more like the new apartments downtown. Totally replace floor by floor. They are very nice. Not like the cell blocks of the past. Probably a one year move while they do upgrades to the Nittany Apartments. That's my guess.
Nittany Apartments are for upperclassmen only, no sophomores or freshman.
I do remember years ago there was a bit of a minor issue when people found out that some sophomores on the football team were in Nittany Apartments, because it went against the housing policy. I've never heard of any freshman athletes living there though.
