With Clifford being banged up does PSU start Levis start and play against Rutgers?

If he does and PSU is up big do you get one of the freshman some snaps in the 4th qtr.

I don’t think so this is Cliffords team and if he’s ready to go Saturday then let him start. I thought I heard somewhere where Franklin said he could’ve come back in and IMO he should’ve brought him back in and I say that only because he’s better and gives us the best chance to win that’s the reason he’s the starter but that just my opinion. I’m just not the one that likes the backup QB because they’re the backup for a reason.

Agreed, Southern.  Also, I firmly believe you don't lose your job because of an injury.  Once you're healthy, you pick up where you were.  Then if you can't get the job done, you can and should be replaced.

Franklin said they did not bring Clifford back because they would not have been 100%...

I'm not advocating for Levis to take the job just asking if PSU should make sure Clifford is healthy and ready to play 100% ...

I agree he gives us the best chance to win I also believe PSU can beat Rutgers with Levis.  I'm down with whatever choice is made.

I agree if he’s not a 100% then play Levis because we’ll definitely need Clifford for the bowl game. I was impressed with Levis especially when he was running the ball. Now I know why Rahne brought him in for some running plays In the Indiana game the kid gets the yards. We’re in great shape at QB we got some studs and they’re only going to get better. Coaches see things in practice that we don’t see that’s why I hate questioning the head coach because we don’t see everything. It’s doesn’t mean I don’t sometimes lol. I’m just the average fan that loves to watch penn st win.

That's why I asked the way I did.   Trying to guess what they might do.  100% spot on about not having all the information like the coaches... If Clifford is ready to go he should get the nod no doubt.

I love when a coach can get key backups meaningful game snaps as it always helps for the following season.

Levis sure can run.  That's why I said on the live chat, he needs to be on the field more.  He can pick up the tough short yards.  Kid would make one heck-of-a FB!  That would even open up the option for a FB pass, LOL!

After Saturday we might see both QB’s on the field going forward in short yardage. We seen it a lot with mcsorley and Stevens. I think Levis is a better runner than Stevens. Clifford is a good running he just gets the crap knocked out of him sometimes but he’s tough as nails though lol

I don't think Clifford was gonna pull that game out or for that matter gives us the best chance to win. Once he got the deer in the headlights look, he was done. Not saying he loses his starting position but some days it just aint your day. And besides, when Levis came in, the O' caught a spark, hell that was fun to watch.

Go back and watch Stevens run against Iowa, and then try to tell me Levis is a better runner than Stevens with a straight face.

That’s 1 run. Stevens is faster and he was a good runner but Levis runs with power and he gets yards after contact. It was fun watching him run yesterday and that wasn’t mop up duty yesterday he was running against Ohio st which has more athletes than Iowa especially on defense. Hey Stevens was a good runner though and I still pull for him when he plays. Levis did good in that situation he came into I was impressed with him.

Yeah but it wasn't just one run, he did it multiple times that year and multiple times in that game. I think you're just forgetting how dominant of a runner he actually was

None of them run like Trace...  Levis could be dangerous if he gets his passing game on point...

Clifford can run enough to keep the chains moving.

I think Clifford should have come back in after either 2 or 3 Levis drives but as long as Levi was hot he should continue.  I think you start Clifford against Rutgers just to be clear who's job it is.  We should be able to pull him before half.

But I'm a below average arm chair QB that didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I  think putting Clifford back in would depend on field position and time left.  Levis did well when we were on OSU's side of the field - like we were running downhill those few drives.  But once we were stuck way back at the 10 yard line, thus now playing "uphill", I think Clifford would have been the better option, assuming he was healthy enough to go.

I think you are going to see tremendous growth in Clifford next year. If he can make better reads on the RPOs, it will open up a lot for the offense. I think you saw a bit of that with Levis in... it wasn't a RPO started working once he entered the game.

We're looking at another Tommy Stevens at this point and he and Trace didn't exactly set the world on fire when they were on the field together, aside from a few plays, If you want to be objective about it.  I would also like to see one of the freshmen if we're in a position to do so.

I’m talking about gettin 1 or 2 yards on 3rd and 4th downs and that’s it other than that I want the backup QB on the sidelines. Where you been lioninsa?  Hope everything is great on your end my friend. 9-2 buddy having a pretty dang good year should finish 10-2 maybe 11-2

A quarterback that can run is a positive but slinging the ball is more important.
