From Doug Samuels: James Franklin was at the forefront of the movement of coaches and programs that made National Signing Day a full fledged production that brought both casual and hardcore fans into staff rooms during his first head coaching job at Vanderbilt.
Now, in his fifth season leading the Penn State program, Franklin has continued to capitalize on that idea, perhaps better than any other program that has tried to do the same.
