@underlion I’ve stated in the past that PSU fans are complacent and still feel that they are. I’m pretty sure that around 70 percent of the people that are in the stadium on game day would be content with 7-5 to 9-3 on an annual basis. PSU doesn’t have a fanatical fanbase that demands conference championships and playoff appearances.
I’m watching Tennessee give Alabama all they want and Tennessee ain’t recruited near as good as Penn St. Tennessee just might win this game. I was all for gettin Yurcich and I still want him to succeed but I don’t ever put pride in front of Penn St winning football games pride takes a backseat. If I see something hurting Penn St football I’ll call it out regardless of what I said yesterday and right now I believe the coaches are killing us on offense. We can’t throw the ball anymore on good teams. We put 8 guys in the NFL last year and lost 6 games imo that’s a problem.
Its got to be about money because I believe Penn St could recruit better if they were in the ACC them being in the big 10only helps Ohio st but I guess money comes before football. I’m only looking at football though.
@southern-psu-fan It’s amazing how basic things like blocking, tackling and throwing the ball seem so effortless and natural to players on other teams.
P.S. When Herndon Hooker first entered the portal PSU was one of the favorites to land him but it looks like he made the right decision.
@psujoe Remoh, I believe we’re good enough to win 10 with a bowl game and that’s awesome if you’re satisfied with that but Penn St should expect to win 11 or 12 games with the way james Franklin is recruiting. Alabama and Tennessee are in a shoot out right now I don’t know who’s going to win. When is the last time we were in a shootout like this? I really though Yurcich was going to have our offense on rails but it just ain’t happening. Had we lost in a shootout today I could’ve took it but getting blown out is hard to take.
42-42 tied up in Knoxville
49-49 what a football game 😆
But what I see is a team with the best recruits holding off a team that may be coming together for once in 10 years. AL will win by FG, TN will lose a few more because they are TN. But the lineman playing on these two teams look big. TN wins and then makes the playoffs, they recruit better and they get over the hump, but they won't and we haven't.
@southern-psu-fan The Bama game is definitely the best game I’ve watched in a long time. I don’t ever remember us being in a shootout like this.
And I'm wrong again? TN to kick FG for the win?
Tennessee might win by a FG
Ugly kick but AL finally gets the L they deserve
I hope James Franklin and Yurcich watched this game and they try and open up the dang offense
Now I have time to watch JF's after woodshed media presentation
I hope James Franklin and Yurcich watched this game and they try and open up the dang offense
JF won’t understand the concept of throwing the ball downfield when you need 35 yards for a field goal attempt with time running out
IDT MY is the problem:
In his six seasons with the Cowboys, Oklahoma State averages 38.0 points and 478.3 yards of total offense per game.
Yurcich was hired at Oklahoma State after two seasons (2011-12) as offensive coordinator at Shippensburg University. His first Shippensburg team set numerous school records, including points scored, touchdowns and total offense. His second led the NCAA Division II in total offense (529.2 ypg) and was second in scoring (46.9 ppg) and passing (387.7 ypg) during an 11-2 campaign.
APPRECIATE YOU COMING TO COVER PSU FOOTBALL. Is that what you call it? So I watched PSU Football.
Didn't use the word COMPLIMENTARY
Didn't hear ESTABLISH anything.
He caught that we 'did not control the line of scrimmage'
Got to get bigger, more physical.
Sean got hurt, as to why Allar came in when he did. IMO there is some truth to that but more to it JF.
Landon got hurt pregame. Stretching must be tough.
On the pick play PI, details matter, receiver got down field, was coached corectly, he messed up.
1-0 next week, 5-1
After an arse kicking I tell them I love em and fans need to support us. I'm thinking you might challenge someone's manhood. Michigan did.
Now you don't need to listen.
Now I have to watch Halloween 🎃 ends with the family and that’s what it’s all about baby.
@underlion underlion, the recruiting rankings say we have the studs to play with anybody. The team is loaded with 4* players and a few 5*. Moorhead and Rahne didn’t have a problem winning 11 games. Clifford had beat Michigan 2 times and we’ve lost the last 2 while Yurcich was the OC. Just saying
Rahne just happened the be OC when we had the two best defensive units of the Franklin era. Just saying, the defense had something to do with it. A lot actually.

The last 2 offensive coordinators Franklin has hired have run completely different offensive schemes than what they had previously success in. It makes no damn sense, Why would you hire someone who's successful, and then have them change to your system rather than let them do what had made them successful in the 1st place?
Also, our defense has dropped off as well. In 2018 and 2019, the offense was not what it had been under Moorehead... Yet our defense was very, very good. Those were the Micah Parsons years and they kept us in quite a few games. Both years under rainy we had good stats, but I mama but our offense was wildly inconsistent and dependent upon big plays against weaker teams.
Roam I hear ya.
The only thing consistent with this team for the past 9 years (?) is JF.
Time to move on to a new CEO; no different than any other top business organization depending on where it is within its own life cycle.
Guys I’m telling ya, James Franklin ain’t going anywhere.
He let Morehead run his schemes but you have to tune a scheme to the players. Barkley and Parsons are stars in any scheme. Lets be honest Barkley didnt have much of a line but he had the threat of the QB running. Barkley got tackled in the backfield a lot in that scheme. We clearly don't have a line to run a pro set, we don't have a QB that we want running. I don't think our defense is as good as we've experienced. Parson and his starting LB's would all be starting on this team?
Now the defence looking confused today makes we question coaching. They were confused too much?
If he was smart enough to hire Rahn and Moorhead why am I to believe he got stupid now? Would Yurcich complain that James is not letting him 'win'? Yea, I know it would be career limiting so he won't but maybe Yurcich is doing his best with the hand dealt? Yea I know we all want to point to our recruiting and say it is clearly coaching or development and Cliffords was serviceable under former coaches. He is still serviceable butbyou would take 10 QB's over him....or 20. No go to back, no go to receiver?
Some of us wanted the Penn State guy that went to Miami and flopped. Would he have done better? Probably not. Chahhgijg dictatorsmin Iran...the next guy could be worse, and then the next guy and then you are Nebraska. And then our stadium can be 80,000. With fancy boxes for the big donors.
Man y’all killing me on the OL stuff. Will Fries, Menet, MCGOVERN and Bates wasn’t chop liver. These were studs on the OL and they were very well coached. They were all big 10 and I believe they all went on to the NFL where only the best go. You don’t even sniff the NFL unless you’re a bad ass.
Steve Gonzalez was also on the OL another bad ass
