@the-funeral-director if the same amount of people smoke pot as drink alcohol the numbers would probably be about the same.

That is not anywhere near true. At all. If it was the numbers from where it's legal wouldnt still be low.
@roaminglion if you could go in the Racetrack gas station and buy pot legally like you can beer more people would be dying in car wreck and in every thing else. Both drugs are only safe if it’s in moderation. More teenagers would be definitely dying. Being stoned is the same thing as being drunk and neither is healthy.
What percentage of DUI’s are actually alcohol today? I believe a pretty high percentage are fentanyl and similar illegal drugs, prescription drugs, and marijuana

Well that's kinda BS. For one, people dont die of marijuana poisoning. People do die of alcohol poisioning. Nothing changes that because it's legal or not.
Also being drunk is definitly not the same as being high. Not even close. Two very different drugs, as pot very rarely rsults in violent behavior. Mostly it calma people down.
Lastly, no one is saying to go out and get blitzed on pot all thr time. Of course in moderation.
I can weigh in on this with as much of a degree of accuracy as anyone regarding the DUI deaths...The vast majority of DUI deaths are alcohol related as per the death certificates I file...I am not going to say that fentanyl isn't a serious problem as it is probably the most serious problem we have concerning young people as well as firearms...I can tell you that fentanyl overdoses usually occur in multiple people dying as they receive a bad batch and it kills them all...Sometimes as many as 9 people in the same place or they may perish individually in 9 separate places depending on how the bad drugs were sold and to whom...Now prescription overdoses are a different thing...If you want to talk about a gateway drug then I would hands down point to prescription pain killers as the #1 gateway drug in this country...When the prescription runs out and these folks are hooked they have 2 choices to satisfy their cravings...#1 is they buy pills on the street which is quite expensive or #2 they go the cheapest route and purchase heroin or fentanyl...I can in no way accurately give the percentages but I am sure than a good number of heroin addicts got their starts using prescription pain killers...We as a country have cultural and societal emergency on our hands that pretty much affects every family at some stage in this country...It affects everybody from the wealthiest and most influential to the poorest of the poor...It doesn't recognize race, religion, political parties or status in life...From my perspective marijuana is the least of our worries regarding the drug crisis in this country as I view fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine as far more worrisome and worthy of our attention...Just my opinion folks...
What I’m saying is alcohol is easy to get when drugs that are illegal aren’t. If you take a million people that are drunk and a million people that are stoned and put them behind the wheel of a car the death results would probably be around the same. The hard drugs like meth is on another level. We all know them drugs are worse. But what do I know I’m a truck driver. One thing I do know is our LB’s need to get to the football this Saturday lol
@southern-psu-fan I'd wager that there are fewer road deaths from stoned individuals, since they typically go under the speed limit vs most drink drivers seem to have a lead foot.
@been-there-ii I just might agree with that brother but both are really bad for you unless there’s the moderation thing going on lol
