Knowing what this game is ... a fancy scrimmage, lots of guys out, yeah I know!
What I saw that meant to most to me, that will help this team win many games .... Defensive Speed!!
Personally it was hard to gleen any football epiphanies because it is what it is, the final spring game, open and televised, much for fan entertainment. I watched the firset half and some of the 4th Q. enjoying Franklin and coaches interact with the crowd. Then there was Keegan Michael Key’s playful antics imitating Franklin. The special play moment where the young girl took the hand off for a TD and spiked the ball in the end zone was nice. All in all a beautiful, fun day for the fans and a little bit of talent discovery. One player among others that stood out to me was #40 LB Jesse Luketa, great instincts, athleticism and bright future. Good day for Penn State and fans.
lot Of fun with a few guys showing what they can do with a lot of starters out. It was a practice game getting the new guys some snaps. It was fun for me to watch. Remember it was just a few years ago that our starters were out during the spring game and now it’s our backups for the most part. James Franklin has penn st back up to big dawg status baby!
Didn't see much of any one guy although there were a few glimpses of Journey Brown and Mac Hickenhammer (how many nicknames are nestled in there?) that showed speed. I'll have to go look at it again to see some of what some of you saw on defense.
Attendance at our spring game 71,000. On a nice day in western Pa with temp near 80, Pirates away and Pens off Pitt could only muster a total of 8,089 for their game. Quit laughing.
