Let me see if i got this right. There are 52 Saturdays in a year and you just spent one watching the intra-squad game of the team you despise the most.  Then, the best you could do was your "not bad, not great post"?

C'mon Suzie, we expected more from you than that.  One things for sure; you'll have no competition for the role of village idiot, you've got  it locked down for another year.

You do realize that the game was pretty much a watered down version and both offense and defense had vanilla game plans, right??

This old jarhead should just stay home and leave traveling to the younger folk. I dont do well in traffic or crowds and didnt really feel at ease until we got into Idaho.  I could definately live in Idaho, Montana, or Wyoming.......more critters than people!!

Tsuga, did you by any chance get to Jackson Wyoming??  The drive from Idaho thru the Teton Pass is very scenic.  I wasn't a big fan of Jackson, too much of a tourist trap but the elk refuge was pretty cool to ride through.

Yep. I did. There were some beautiful vistas along the way for sure and several feet of snow at the top of the pass.  I agree with your assessment on Jackson, lots of overpriced stores.  We did do the obligatory picture in front  of the elk antler arch though.

In one of the stores they were selling an European mount of a 4x4 elk rack for $4500! The clerk told me it just arrived and he figured it would be sold by Memorial day.

We drove thru the elk refuge and that was the most exciting part of the day. We saw several elk and some nice big horned sheep........quite a few were full curl

It's been a few years since I've been out that way, but I think you might find a place to suit ya in most of the western mountain states. Always loved it out there, unfortunately the kids & grand daughter are on the east coast.
