I was a Franklin supporter until this year but now it seems as if something isn’t right in Happy Valley.
The uninspired 0 and 5 start, the drop-off in recruiting, the kids leaving early, the decision to not take a bowl game ........ could it be the kids don’t want to play for Franklin?
If so, it is time for Franklin to go.

Most teams opted out, if they didn't want to play for Franklin they would have given up rather than winning 4 straight.
Oweh reminds me of Maurice Evens maybe not as good as evens and IMO both jumped to the NFL to fast.
@roaminglion. I believe they could’ve got 5 but I’m satisfied with the way they fought back winning 4 games and beating Michigan it was just one of those years where not much went our way. These 4 straight wins might not look like much now but if we start out strong next year the wins look better just like what happened in 05. Beating Michigan and gettin back to winning our fair share is important.
Oweh does not surprise me as somehow he's very high on draft boards. I think he's viewed as a ridiculous talent, but would take a year to develop
I think most people knew he was going after this season, there was talk about him and the NFL before he even arrived in SC. Gotta give him credit for not opting out.

Yes, it certainly seems like he has lost the team. I believe Jayson Oweh makes that clear in the following qoute: " In the words of Coach Franklin, ‘In reality, every day you have a choice. Just in case you didn't get it, my words were dripping with sarcasm.
I have said all along, what happens in COVID stays in COVID. There were TOO many obstacles in the way for MOST teams and some teams just didn't fair out as well as others. I still believe Penn State would have faired out much better had the BIG10 not cancelled the season and then re-instate it cancelling the OOC games. Penn State needed those games, it showed at the end of this season. I think they would have still lost 2 games, probably Iowa and Ohio State, but I think the outcome vs Neb, MD and Indiana would have been different. They were not going to compete with any of the top 5 or 6 teams, I think THOSE teams are just that much better.
Carrying a 4-0 win streak into 2021 SHOULD help this team mentally. They have a lot of work to do, but they have some really good talent to work with. I am still very concerned about their QB play. This two QB thing was ok against the last 4 bad teams, but it won't work against good teams. They need to settle in on one and call it the day.
As for JF, I just don't know. Sometimes I think his heart is in it, then other times I am just not sure what he is thinking. I ABSOLUTELY believe the program took a big hit this year. That 0-5 start did a lot of damage and then going 4-0 only stopped the bleeding but the wound is still FAR from being healed. I think we ALL need to circle the Wisconsin game next year. It is going to be a must win if this team has any hopes of getting back on the map as National Powerhouse. If they go 2-2 the first four games next season, then I think they need to take a hard look at JF. I don't think there is another game as big the Wisconsin game next season....and I am hoping he get's done!!!

@mtnittanylion If we start next year at 2-2 and the next game is on the road 2 weeks later at Iowa, Yikes! The sharks will be circling in Iowa City if that's the case. You're right that Wiscy game is going to be huge!

Yeah, nothing to worry about. Don't sweat it. Franklin has the transfer portal in his back pocket to take care of everything. Recruiting is a thing of the past.

I know exactly what's going on and I'm not even a fan. Don't be surprised to see a few more sign the portal. That includes a few starters.
I don’t see anything going on except James Franklin and the team finding a way to win the last 4 games. Indiana, Maryland, Iowa and Nebraska ain’t no dang better than Michigan. Michigan St, Rutgers or Illinois. We had the dam Indiana game won on their turf we give ‘em the game and the replay booth can’t even get the crap right watching the replay that was another BS slap in the face from the big 10. The team found their way and that’s why we won the last 4 games nothing more and nothing less they just started playing with confidence. The portal is part of college football today and James Franklin will use it just like every other team will.
Do people realize we have a small class? Our star average is higher than some of the teams ahead of us in the rankings because they took more players, not necessarily better ones.
