Washington and Oregon move to the Big Ten, and the other three move to the Big 12. The PAC as we know it is gone, as the only schools left are Oregon State, Washington State, Stanford, and Cal. All schools leave after this upcoming season.
Looks like the B12 is going to be a decent conference. I knew it was a long shot but I was rooting for the B1G to get Utah only because a road trip to that state in the fall could be fun.
Stanford and Cal are most likely a package deal and headed to the same conference but where? Those two also to the B1G and OSU and WAZZU to the B12?Washington and Oregon move to the Big Ten, and the other three move to the Big 12. headed to the same conference
Hmmm I just read that the only remaining options for the 4 remaining PAC12teams is either the Mountain West or independence.
If Oregon State joins the MWC, in a weird way it could benefit them quite a bit. Remember, there are 6 GUARANTEED CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS in the playoff. While the Big Ten, SEC, ACC, and Big 12 are duking it out... 2 other conferences are getting their champs in. Just looking on the bright side here in Corvallis lol
Congratulations to all the people who wanted a playoff ......... but probably never considered the reasons for college football.

Sounds like when it comes to the playoff the B1G and SEC screwed themselves because there will be much easier ways in. I wonder how long it will be till they try to manipulate the system again and cut some other conferences out. Maybe now we’ll have the Power Three?
@tae-buetel I’m guilty Tae but what I wanted was 5 power conferences and 4 conference champs get in and one sits home and gives the fans something to cry about and stay hungry for next year lol…I didn’t want what we’re seeing buddy that’s for sure. I hate seeing teams like Alabama and TCU lose the last game and make the playoffs that leaves a bad taste imo
The "reason" for college sports is competition. Always has been, as much as people want to say there was some higher purpose to it.
It is to compete against others, nothing more than that. That takes many forms, not just the one you like. College sports has looked quite different in many eras, but the common thread was competition against other schools.
@southern-psu-fan I ------ Southern, I liked the ranking system and the bowl system that was in place before the Bowl Coalition and all the BCS shenanigans started. To be fair, I'm sure there were lots of shenanigans going on before the Bowl Coalition and the BCS but I just don't remember. In the end, I don't see the importance of declaring a National Champion.
@psu61 I’d love to see Penn St, Maryland, Rutgers and ND join the ACC. What y’all think? That would definitely save the ACC. That would give us 2 rivalries with Pitt and ND

Just two things...
1. Penn State and ND are not rivals, not even close. Maybe it could grow into one, but I doubt we are top 10 on their list for rivalries. Michigan, MSU, Purdue, Indiana, USC, Stanford, Navy, and BC all come to mind before PSU in respect to ND
2. I would love that too, if everything was equal. But it's not, and unfortunatly we'd be taking quite a paycut to go there. It would have an effect on out sports programs... wrestling being a big one.
I'd like to see Stanford and ND join the Big.
I agree that is probably the best case scenario both athletically and academically. They are terrific adds, however I dont see Stanford coming without Cal. For some realson I just don't feel they would do them dirty like Oregon and Washington did to OSU and WSU.
@southern-psu-fan I'd love to see Rutgers join the MAC, where they belong....and they might even have a winning record in football again!
The Big 10 is considered a great football conference due to several factors. Firstly, it boasts a rich history with storied programs and a tradition of success, making it one of the oldest and most prestigious conferences in college football. Additionally, the conference consistently produces strong teams and competitive matchups, drawing in a large and passionate fan base. Moreover, the Big 10 universities often have impressive facilities, coaching staff, and resources, attracting top-tier talent and nurturing future NFL players. These elements combined contribute to the conference's reputation as a powerhouse in college football. Oregon and Washington will contribute to the outstanding legacy of the Big 10.
@psujoe Not at all. Both conferences will get more teams in the playoffs. because now both conferences will carry more power.
@southern-psu-fan Why would PSU leave the B1G and the most lucrative conference TV deal by far to go to the ACC which has teams looking to leave? The ACC may be closer to folding than many think. If FSU and Clemson find a way to legally leave, the conference will be on life support.
And for those wanting ND, screw them and their arrogance and their pompous followers. They had their chance and they thumbed their nose at it. Best of luck Irish, your going to need it.
@lionbacker99 Exactly 99! They can stuff their leprechaun where the sun don't shine.
I’m not disagreeing with how y’all feel about ND but you add Penn State, ND, Maryland and Rutgers to the ACC that conference would be just as powerful as the big 10. Also I believe the ACC is gettin a lot better in wrestling Roam and add Penn St and Rutgers would make it even better. Think what you want but where Penn St and ND are, ain’t nothing going to sink, might even bring in as much money as the other conferences. Can’t post anything here but most everything I read says Penn St is a rivalry with ND their #10 team but anybody with a half of brain knows Penn St vs ND is more a a brutal battle that Indiana, Purdue, navy, Michigan St, Stanford and Pitt. I give ya USC and Michigan. You’re 10 years younger than me roam so you won’t remember the dog fights we use to have with ND the games were as big as any games in the country they had the Alabama/Auburn feel every time they played just ask anybody on here that’s 55 or older we had dog fights with ND and the 2 fan based do not like each other.
Here in the south when I run up on ND fans and tell ‘em I’m a Penn State fan they say F Penn St jokingly but they ain’t joking lol. It doesn’t get the same rivalry respect as Auburn/Alabama but I still believe it’s a rivalry.BTW F ND! Lol
Y’all remember the ND 1990 game? Y’all know I’m a Ga Tech fan to so that win was even sweeter for me lol
Remember it well, Southern. We were ranked #18 & they were #1. We didn't do much the first half, but played lights out after halftime and won 24-21! Didn't see any ND jackets around NEPA after that stunner, lmao!
Same thing up here Southern. You're either a NIT fan or a ND fan. Kinda like being a Democrat or Republican - you can't be both! We've had our rivalries with Syracuse, West Virginia & Pitt, but nothing can compare to our rivalry with the Iwish! Every time we played them it was THE game of the season.
