If PSU loses to ND the whole “James Franklin can’t win big games” narrative will most likely continue as a lot of people aren’t going to give much credit for defeating SMU and Boise.
@southern-psu-fan I get what you’re saying but this is the win you want baby. Blue blood vs blue blood, top 5 semifinal. A win here is something tangible you can show recruits on the fence between programs. Penn State was seeded 4 and then they won their way into the true semifinal old format. A top 5 win over ND would be bigger than Boise and SMU combined plus PSU is a dog in this one and that’s the knock on Franklin he can’t win a top 5 matchup as a dog. We’ll see.
I give them credit for winning the 2 playoff games. That's 2 steps in the right direction. Now they need to take the next step and win the BIG ONE by defeating the Iwish & getting into the championship game!

I'm hoping that #10 gives the Irish the "fawk you" several times. He only did it once against Boise State but he is an incredible talent. With an effective run game, #15 will have opportunities to stretch the field and maybe some of the receivers can break loose.

We dominated SMU and Boise State which is what we’re supposed to do to good lightweight teams homer. If you’ll remember I always said under a 4 team playoff i don’t want any lightweight teams in not under a 12 team playoff. I’m all for teams like Boise State getting a chance under a 12 or 16 team playoff but no way in hell do they get in under a 4 team playoff they’ll get drilled just like what you seen them get. SMU is in a p4 conference so if they make it I guess they deserve it.

I see OSU as #1 and ND/PSU as #2. TX representing the SEC is 4. This would qualify as a real win for JF. The other two, while playoff wins were expected.

Carson Beck had been playing terrible for a good part of the season and even in the game where he got injured the backup came in and looked better. ND was the better team and pathetic GA fans need to stop making excuses.
@psujoe Beck didn’t have the season he had hoped for but he did beat Texas 2 times with the backup helping out in the second game. They were ranked second, right? I’m with ya about the Georgia fans

These are some of the playoff games that I could find. Michigan did beat Alabama last year and Ohio State beat Oregon for the NC. These games were played and the weather had nothing to do with the results. Is what it was homer. I was trying to find what the big 10 teams did.
The big 10 had teams in the playoffs most years if not all and the big 10 teams got curb stomped most of the times.
