How much of our Offense's problems or ineptness is the fault of Kirk Ciarrocca, the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks coach. Here are some stats per Pat Forde "Penn State on three possessions inside the Nebraska 15 in the second half: run for no gain, run for no gain, run for loss of three, field goal; incomplete, incomplete, incomplete, incomplete; incomplete, incomplete, sack, incomplete".

That is pretty bad huh?  Not like N has this awesome defense.

Two of the passes could have been TD's but the receiver didn't understand where the ball could be thrown.  Understandable for a backup QB and rookie receivers.

None, I don't blame him at all. We had 500 yards of offense without a decent QB, our 3rd/4th string RBs, and 2 true freshman at starting WR. Yeah, we have Dotson and Friermuth but that only goes so far...

He wasn't allowed to coach through spring and only got to even meet the team for the first time on the practice field in August? The QB is entirely to blame, I'm sorry but these INTs are HORRIFIC. I mean, today the guy was wide open running an out and he threw it 10 yards to the side. Indiana? Two throws 5 feet over the head of the guy he was passing to. I can't blame an OC who hardly even got to know his QBs for those mistakes, at some point yes... it's the player. He could call the best play in the world, but if the QB is throwing it 15 feet too high it's not going to work... Clifford is terrible, Levis isn't really a good QB but at least he doesn't seem to turn the ball over and can run well.

I agree with Roam. I’m hoping the new OC can make Levis a good QB. I thought Levis had some nice throws today hopefully he keeps gettin better. We gotta give the new OC a year and get him his QB that takes a little time.

I agree with a lot of your post Roam. What I don't understand is how bad Clifford has played when he quarterbacked the team to 9 wins last year.

Plenty of signs last year that showed Clifford had talent but some serious issues and I had hope the new OC would transform him into Tanner Morgan. NOT!!!

I agee with Joe... if you look at Clifford's numbers from last year you will see very different stats and performance in games against good teams. He padded his stats considerably against bad teams, almost like the kid that transferred from ole Miss to Michigan did when he was at ole Miss. Every one thought he was a good quarterback because his stats looked good, but he just couldn't handle complex defenses and didn't see the field well... I think Clifford suffers from this, he stares down receivers and doesn't spread the ball around.
