PSU blows out Iowa.
ND loses in historic fashion.
The shutout made my night! Also, our OL play against a good defense. Finally, no more if's and's or but's about Allar. He's the real deal!
Tighten up on mistakes and penalties a bit. No long throws by Allar but I suspect that was just a strategy of not giving the game away and wearing down Iowa. He threw an ugly screen that easily could have been intercepted. Iowa did not have receivers that could challenge our DB's. Somehow our LB's looked good covering the short passes and TE after the first series.
I think this is the most competitive team we have seen in a long while. Lets stay healthy, get a few breaks and we can earn a dance.
Anything negative to say about coach? No clock management issues in that game, I didn't like going on 4th down at the 50 in the first qtr nor did I like that option pass when we were dominating them with the short run and pass. It was out of character for the game plan. Funny how up and down fans can be.
When I look at things I begin and end with how the line of scrimmage plays out...For the first time in a long time Penn State dominated the line of scrimmage on BOTH sides of the ball...Penn State always has the skill guys and this QB has showed me he is the real deal...for me with this team it is all about the front 7 on defense and the OLine and TE's blocking...My only demerit goes to #84 as he needs to be better blocking the edge...This was a really good win...
I finally saw a defense that looks similar to the one I’ve been expecting this season, now all we need is a receiver or 2 to step up and become a deep threat. Cephus has been a major disappointment.
that option pass
The coaches might want to let option passers know that they can just throw the ball away instead of losing 20 yds,

That would be intentional grounding. There is a rule that states if a QB laterals to another player, and that player throws it out of bounds to avoid a negative play... it is intentional grounding. Only the QB (or whoever gets the ball first) is allowed to do it.
It needs to be in the vicinity of a receiver.
@roaminglion I was not aware of that rule. Thanks for the info.
