Thinking about it recently, and looking at the beautiful facilities they just built... I think Northwestern is no longer an overachiever. They are a player at the top of the West, I don't think this is a blip or rare occasion.

I believe Fitzgerald is going to be able to start pulling in much better recruiting classes there. If you haven't seen them already, take a look at what NW has built on campus regarding football facilities. They are, simply magnificent.

Great education + great facilities + highly respected head coach = prolonged success. Fitzgerald has also shown he is not going anywhere, he's completely committed to Northwestern. I think you'll see a Stanford like transition from NW in the next few years.
