With all the coaching changes, and Franklin's alleged recruiting prowess, I was expecting some big name target to flip to PSU today. Hopefully some previous PSU commits that went elsewhere on signing day could Portal on over here.
None for us but one flipped from us to MD.

@psujoe hmmm, did not see that in the article I read earlier, thanks, gonna look that up
Who did we lose?
Signed only 3 OLmen??? Doesn't James realize that is where we need help, badddd!
Any news on the center from Virginia?
@rip We tried but failed miserably, quality O'linemen don't want to play for PSU. We signed Shelton which was a great get but the rest of the best in state OL prospects were never seriously considering playing for us.

Why would we be trying to flip anyone, we had a class of 25. No room?
@roaminglion They signed 23 players Roam ... the flipper Royes would make 24 - who was the 25th player?
@shankalottapuss Thinking this JUCO https://247sports.com/college/penn-state/Article/Penn-State-football-recruiting-Lackawanna-safety-Tyrece-Mills-sign-February-178425375/
Seems the history we have on developing OL we should spread a wide net....just play the odds.
Maybe part of our problem with OL is the flavor of the month offensive system, but jeeze it just seems putting your big fat body on someone, anyone, would be helpful. The value of a RB that can average 3 yards, receive and block would be great.
I am thinking there is some race bias at certain football positions.
- Kicker
- QB (less so now)
- RB
- Receiver
- OL
People won't admit to it but I bet statistically there is a tendency to push people away from certain positions. Statistically what is the difference between OL and DL? White vs black vs Samoan? How is it explained? Careful. Just a hypothesis, based on watching CF, no real data. Malcolm Gladwell has a book where he talks about race bias even in the black community. He goes over horn bias in that women were believed to be inferior with certain wind instruments because they didn't have the lungs.
Not sure why OL don't want to play for us as someone said. We used to have pretty good O lines. If I am a good QB or RB I might not want to play for us as I am likely to get "killed". If I am coming in one of my big questions is what kind of O line will I have in front of me? Either in the next round we have some folks locked up or we have the check is in the mail approach hoping for the best. If the latter is it then these QB and RB guys must be already planning on a transfer portal exit. CJF surely can see he needs major OL work.
Thanks BT II and Roam - you guys are like the wikipedia of Penn State Football, when I don't know something, I know who to ask!!!!
