@roaminglion McSorely beat Ohio St and Michigan and won the fiesta bowl and won a big 10 championship. How did McSorely play in the big 10 championship game? Did you forget? I believe he set some records. No big wins yet but I am pulling for DA to get one. He gets one more opportunity we’ll see.

Yet again you don't address my point and go right back to something else.
Direct question... What did McSorley do when his good WRs were gone? In 2018, when he didn't have great receivers... what did he do? And could that be the entire damn point I have been making about Allar? When you don't have any good receivers, all of a sudden those 300 yard games and big wins dry up.
I never once said McSorley was a bad QB. You have been completely missing the entire point. I've been comparing the WRs he had, and the WRs Allar has. When McSorley had average WRs in 2018, the offense wasn't nearly as good. It's not just a QB thing, like somehow QBs magically make WRs run better routes and catch better.
Plain and simple... when McSorley had the WRs, he won. When he didn't... he lost. Which is my entire point, Allar is not the problem. When you hit a receiver in the endzone with a perfect pass, it shouldn't turn into an interception.
I think Pribula would have been a better option vs Ohio State's style of defense. They should have played him more and they didn't. But, Allar is better all around for the offense. The running game is better with Pribula, but Allar's passing opens up more options for the offense that Pribula can't offer. Pribula had some scary passes against Wisconsin, and when you start playing against secondaries like Texas, GA and Bama have, that would be a problem for Pribula.
Pribula is by far one of the best backup QB's in the country and they really need to use him more down the stretch. I have hunch we will see a lot of him vs Purdue. I am not so sure about Minnesota ulness we get a good commanding lead in the first half. This is probably the best of the three remaining teams we face and they can't take a chance of leaving Minny hang around too long. Maryland? I think we see a lot of Pribula in this game too. If they have any hopes of making a solid run in the playoffs, they have to involve Pribula more and get him some quality playing time the next three weeks.
Ohio State played us man to man, a QUALITY dual threat QB like Pribula should have been utilized more. Wisconsin played more of a zone, so Pribula was able to dump some short passes off, but he didn't have much luck down field compared to Allar. The tight short passes he threw ain't going to be as easy against better secondaries....somebody is going to read him and pick him off.
My point in all of this is, when you have two QB's like Penn State has, you have to use them both to your advantage and for some reason, JF is not doing that. One guy brings Energy to the running game, the other guy brings a passing attack that opens up the running game. Pribula will do well against lesser teams, but he has lot of work to do with his passing game to be a factor against the better teams.
If Penn State EVER had a chance to win it all under JF, this is the year to do it. There is not a dominant team out their. One can say it is Oregon, but if their game against Ohio State was in the Shoe.....Ohio State probably wins. I think you can lump all three of these teams together and at a neutral site, I feel it would be toss up. As for Indiana, let's see how they fair out against Ohio State. Their schedule SO far just doesn't mean a lot. I definitely think they are a good team this year, but I need to see them beat a top 10 or play close like we did before I can put any value on them.
GO STATE!!!!

Roam, the facts are McSorely had some big wins and a big 10 championship as the starting QB and DA has none. All I’m asking is DA step up and get one big win, that’s all and hopefully he gets it in the playoffs. You can keep playing the blame game all you want the 2024 team is loaded with studs and it’s time for him to step up and get that win. I’m his biggest cheerleader to get that win.
You can also downplay the Rose Bowl, Cotton Bowl and fiesta Bowl all you want but them are HUGE wins for Penn St and the starting QB of the teams that won them big games. DA had the opportunity to get a Peach Bowl win and he stunk up the field and we got beat. We should’ve out scored Ole Miss I don’t give a fudge how many starters we had out on defense that was a terrible loss. You might think it wasn’t a big game but Ole Miss did. The same thing i watched in the Ole Miss game is the same thing I watched in the Ohio St and Michigan games, bad QB play.
Ya’ll do understand that we shouldn’t have to bring our starting QB off the field in the red zone, right? AK knows there’s a problem that’s why he does it and that problem will be fixed after this year you can bet your butt on that.
BTW I tried to delete the above because it sounds like I’m upset and I’m not mad at all I’m just pointing out what has to happen to beat the big dawgs and time is on my side. I’m praying that I’m wrong and we get a win in the playoffs or a big bowl game. Nobody wants this kid to win in the playoffs or bowl game more than me that I can promise you. Lol just win baby……a big game lol
It's loaded with studs? Which WR is going to be a star in the NFL? Most of em wont even make it.Roam, the facts are McSorely had some big wins and a big 10 championship as the starting QB and DA has none. You keep side stepping the issue... How did McSorley do in 2018 when he didn't have good WRs? Answer that. Any big wins? Good offense? Did he forget how to pass or win? Funny how those things disappeared once the WRs we gone.
KLS is playing on a 3-6 team that has to pass late in games because they are always losing. 650 yards in 9 games on a losing team is nothing to brag about.
James Franklin should’ve never let this dude go. KLS was never the problem.
@roaminglion KLS is gettin open something he supposedly couldn’t do at Penn St last year. He got open with Clifford as well his numbers dropped when DA was throwing to him. The stats are there for you roam
McSorely won a fiesta Bowl, beat Michigan and Ohio St and won a big 10 championship as starting QB. It is what it is Roam. Wisconsin was also a top 10 team when McSorely beat ‘em in the big 10 championship game. Didn’t McSorley sets some records in that game? There you go
The good news is DA and you can prove me wrong in the playoffs and hopefully the playoff game is at Penn St which should give him an advantage. I’m on y’all side baby prove ole southern wrong!
1. KLS has less receptions this year than he had last year, he isnt getting open more. He's racking up yardage in passing situations when his team is losing. So you're wrong. Auburn is 3-6.@roaminglion KLS is gettin open something he supposedly couldn’t do at Penn St last year. He got open with Clifford as well his numbers dropped when DA was throwing to him. 2. How many effing times do I have to ask you about 2018 until you answer the damn question? You keep talking about 2016, I dont care. I am asking you about 2018 and you just can't come up with a good answer... So again, why couldn't McSorely throw for 300 yards or win big games in 2018?
@roaminglion maybe the team wasn’t good enough which isn’t the problem today. McSorely was QB 3 years and his record speaks for itself and he did spend 5 or 6 years in the NFL. All I’m asking for is ONE big win Roam…just One man. The Ga Tech QB beat 2 top 10 teams this year and I assure you Ga Tech ain’t on the same planet with talent that Penn St has on offense. Vanderbilt beat Alabama because of the QB play and you telling me DA can’t get one big win in 2 years at starting QB at Penn St? Gimme a break
I'm not sure why you keep defending McSorley, I'm not saying he's a bad QB. My point always has been this: In 2018 he had mediocre WRs and what a surprise... he didn't have as good of passing numbers.@roaminglion maybe the team wasn’t good enough which isn’t the problem today. As for "one big win" - We haven't beat OSU since 2016, and in that time we only beat Michigan when they weren't good. Allar has beaten ranked teams, just like Clifford did. You keep talking as if we've had "big wins" since 2016, and we haven't. We have not beaten a top 10 team in the regular season since 2016, and the only time we actually beat a top ten team at all since then is Utah in the Rose Bowl. A team you said stinks, and half their team opted out.
I'm not really sure what you think a "big win" even is, if you think Clifford had any.
@roaminglion Clifford won a Cotton and Rose Bowl and finished 11-2 two time and was most valuable player in the rose bowl and he did beat a ranked Michigan team. Go rewatch the peach bowl. I’ll just leave it at that.
So Utah is a big win when it suits your argument, and they stink when it doesn't. Got it.@roaminglion Clifford won a Cotton and Rose Bowl and finished 11-2 two time and was most valuable player in the rose bowl and he did beat a ranked Michigan team. Go rewatch the peach bowl. I’ll just leave it at that.
Fact: Half of Utah's team sat out the game. Who cares.
@southern-psu-fan Wel since we can't agree, I'm going to go get one of those revenge spells and cast it on you. LMAO
@roaminglion 😂 everything is good buddy you know that. My son agrees with y’all and he’s wrong too 😂 He’s a huge DA fan. I like him and I wish nothing but good things for him especially since he’s our starting QB. We just gotta get the offense clicking 4 Quarters then we’ll win some of these big games.
McSorely threw a lot of balls up for grabs and trusted receivers to get them as I remember. Even if DA had a receiver that rebounded well it is clear to me he doesn't like throwing 50-50 balls. I'd also propose that McS was able to play to win instead of a game manager...When you are the better team you don't take risks. Sorry to say this but we are the better team every game but maybe 1 this regular season.
I agree about McSorley... but Allar throws it up to Warren a good amout so I dont think he's shy about doing that with receviers he trustsMcSorely threw a lot of balls up for grabs and trusted receivers to get them as I remember. DA had a great game today and I’m proud that he did. He was spot on today throwing and he ran good a few times.
Yep, give Allar credit, he played great today. BP didn't do too bad either. Two nice passes were dropped, but he had a nice TD run.
