I don't want close games, I want to see a focused team that is done playing like crap in the first half, and is done playing to the level of our competition. No one on our schedule has the talent we have... we shoukd bury these teams.

That said.... We play Bowling Green close, we play Illinois close, we play USC close, we play UCLA close... and we play Ohio State close.

WTF? Those teams are all on wildly different levels, yet you'd think they are all similar by the way we keep them all in the game. We need to wake the hell up and start playing focused and angry.

This, to me, is coaching. We never seem focused or prepared to play. Not fired up, more just going through the motions until our backs are up against the wall... then we seem to want to play. Problem is when you do that against someone like OSU... you lose.

I think Saunders is back tonight, he’ll make in impact in the passing game.

31-13 PSU wins

I like close games. Much more exciting. I had enough blowout games from when I was a student and we were playing all 3 service academies as well as our normal doormats.

So the plan to stop our offense is well known.  Stop the run and TE, risk a receiver beating you.  It will again be too close unless a receiver find himself.

Or I could be wrong and we can just line up and run over them.

Best first half of football all season! Was good to see the D come out fired up like they were.

DA stepped up in the first half and had a good game and was throwing the ball down field but winning 28-0 I wish Pribula would’ve played the whole second half just to start getting him ready for next year. If we can swap RB’s around we can let the backup QB play more with a 28-0 lead. We didn’t really do anything in the second half anyway. It’s a different game today. Big butt kicking last night as I expected.

Im beginning to believe good teams are good team and bad teams are bad teams doesn’t really matter what conference you’re in. You’ll get your butt beat if you’re not ready to play just look at Miami yesterday and Alabama when they played Vanderbilt. There’s also been other games like ND and NI

It was a great win last night and the boys played good, especially in the first half. Maybe I'm just in a foul mood because I couldn't watch the game on cable TV (thanks to Peacock).  I listened to the game on radio sitting in my car, parked in our drive way (the radio in my house was on the fritz).  I'll gladly take the win, but the way we got our 1st 3 TD's was really rubbing salt in the wound left over from our failure to pump it in from the 3 yard line in 4 tries against the Buckeyes.  Last night we scored on a Pribula run from the 8 yd line, a Warren run from the 2 yd line and yet another run by Warren from the 2 yd. line!  Where was this red zone creativity in the OSU game?  Jimmy pulled another Jimmy on the big stage!

@rip Exactly! This game just brings up more questions about Franklin and his game planning. He plays aggressive against teams with lesser talent and play conservative against teams with equal or superior talent. It’s time to start playing to win no matter who the opponent is.

I think part of the motivation for this team last night was the thought that they may get to play Ohio State again.

Why does everyone think it is a foregone conclusion that Allar is leaving after this year? For what? To be a 4-7 round pick? He would make more money staying.

@southern-psu-fan Maybe but that still doesn’t explain the conservative play calling vs top 15 teams compared to the aggressive play calling vs everyone else. All I’ve heard today from people was “where was that last week?” When talking about goal line offense.

Thanks, BT.  I'll keep this handy for future reference.  Hope I don't need it if they just keep us off Peacock!

Just my 2 cents. Maybe it’s the caliber of the football team and not the play calling.

@psujoe  imo when DA is on the field the playbook becomes more limited but he’s a little better passer is the only reason he’s starting. He won’t be a better passer next year. What we see with DA is what we get and it won’t get any better but with Pribula the offense will get much better. In 2 years the offense hasn’t gotten any better. We have studs at every position on offense so that will hide a lot of stuff until we play teams like ole Miss, Ohio St, Michigan and other potential top 10 teams especially top 5 teams. Y’all can make excuses if you want to but we won’t beat the top dawgs with DA playing QB….0-4 and all 4 games were disasters on offense and you know it.

If y’all are satisfied beating teams like Washington then DA is our guy but if you want to beat Ohio St we gotta do better at QB and Pribula gives us a better chance to beat Ohio St and other top 5 teams. We already know he’s a better runner and he will get better throwing the ball the more snaps he get and he’s pretty da g good now. Pribula opens up the offense more from what I see.

I’m telling y’all something else, 99% of the teams out there would love to have Clifford, #44 and #6 that’s 3 dudes that can catch the football.

This is pure nonsense. Last year we were worse than 60th in the FBS for total offense, this year we are top 20.

Saying we arent better is completely ignoring reality. Allar's stats are also noticeably better as well.

Southern, it's amazing that without being at any practices you know and see more than all of our offensive coaches know.

@psugrad81  considering we were up 28-0 at halftime it really wasn’t noticed we didn’t get anything done on offense in the second half it was the same ole thing just different half. We shouldn’t have to give up on the starting QB to score when we get in the red zone the starting QB should be able to get TD’s. When Pribula is the starting QB next year you won’t see him come off the field. 2 things I noticed in the 3rd quarter about both teams, the backup QB’s are better than the starting QB’s and it’s easy for me to see it. #44, #2 and #6 are dam good football players that can catch the football and y’all act like we ain’t got good receivers lol that’s 3 stud players on the field at the same time with a NFL RB to add.

0-4 against teams on the same level of talent and being out scored 106-65 when we had a defense that had NFL talent all over the field. This is all on average at best QB play. There is no excuse unless you’re just happy to beat the mediocre teams.

A couple of good WRs would make a HUGE difference.  Then you would not be bitching about Allar.  Kind of like baseball, you can a ton of hitters but if you don't have any pitching it's just not going to work out.  And vice a verse a.
