In case you want to see a list of top NIL schools by average NIL earnings per football player go to:
https://nfldraftdiamonds.com/2023/04/richest-college-football-programs/
I don't know how to paste a clickable link, but try to type this into your browser.... very interesting.
If you don't want to go through the hassle of doing that, here is a list of the top 10:
Texas A & M = $85K
Michigan = $65K
Oklahoma = $64K
Georgia = $56K
Alabama = $52K
Clemson = $46K
Ohio State = $44K
Notre Dame = $34K
Utah = $29K
Baylor = 16.5K
I couldn't find the average for our Lions though.
Texas A/M shells out a heck of a lot of money all around; you'd figure they would have won a Natty by now.

Funny seeing Michigan up there at #2, considering how sanctimonious Harbaugh was when he said they talked about it: "The Wolverines have famously rejected the “pay for play” idea that many other programs have embraced. Instead, they prefer to focus on providing opportunities for their student-athletes once they arrive on campus."
LMAO, yeah sure.
Those would be meaningful numbers if the NIL money was actually divided amongst all of the players. Maybe that should be the NIL legislation needed, any money paid to any players in any sport must be divided equally among all the players on that team.
JF says everyone of you here need to start ponying up.
@psugrad81 I agree 81, every single dollar is split with every athlete on campus. I don’t know how to go about it but I’m sure somebody does.
State legislatures are to blame, and congress needs to fix it. When some of the states passed laws to basically neuter the NCAA's ability to regulate NIL, this was always going to happen.
It's pretty simple: Don't allow payments like this at all, and go back to amateurism. Put the onus on the professional leagues to either start minor leagues, or allow players to be drafted. It never was, nor should it be the NCAA's responsibility to make sure a kid out of high school is allowed to play. Let basketball players go to the G league, or other places if they want to get paid. I don't care.
Either take a hard stance, or let it all go NIL. There's no inbetween IMO with this. There's not "amateur lite" - you either go to school, take your scholarship (full price of attendence), and play for the school... or go pro. It works for soccer, it works for baseball, tennis, etc. etc. etc.
I think it's too far gone, Roam. There are even some HS kids getting NIL! I wonder if the Pottstown Firebirds are still playing.... 25 bucks a game and a free hoagie! They played some rough & tumble football as I recall.
It's bad and insane when teams you don't like have it and your favorite team doesn't.
@rip I don't think it is, I think it's fair for the NCAA to limit access to their sport if they wish to do so.
I just don't believe the NCAA has the backbone to do it. If there's any hope left we need a new sheriff in town.

We have one, the NCAA just hired a new president. He's the former governor of Massachusetts and one of the main reasons he was brought was to lobby Congress to finally legislate this mess. Without legislation to override the stupid laws the states enacted regarding NIL (because it was a reelection year and they wanted publicity "look what I did") there's no way for the NCAA to stop any of it.
The future of college sports is bleak.
Sorry Roam, I don't think another politician is the answer.
He's not a politician anymore, he's the NCAA President. Or are you just one for life the moment you enter politics? He was a businessman for years before governor too.
If he's gonna be lobbying Congress (as you said) he's still a politician!
I get it. Some people don't like it. It's tragic to some fans. I'm sure something down the road will develop. For the meantime you just need to listen to the music or change the station.
If he's gonna be lobbying Congress (as you said) he's still a politician!
Well that makes zero sense, are you saying random people who go to Washington DC to talk to Congress are all politicians? So, if you have a cause you believe in and you need the governments help... that makes you a politician?
Nope. Actions taken as an individual are not the same as those taken by the head of organization.

Nah, I don't think merely being part of a charity or organization who lobbies Congress makes a person a politician.
Yeah, but if you're the head of the organization.....
Every CEO in this country would be a politician then. I disagree
I CANT WAIT FOR FOOTBALL! WOOHOO!!! Have a great day!
