Not many goofy plays on offense. Well we did have our receiver at QB and some direct snaps but I think the game was 'in hand'. Notice any AK unbalanced lines? I saw on goofy shift of the whole line. Why was the offensive line able to block NE better than the D2 Teams at the start of the year? We kicked the FG when we should have.
Good game other than the 2-3 face mask calls and the off sides by our rush end that specializes in jumping. At least he didn't hold this week. Apparently we have a DE that has held more than the whole OSU Offensive Line. Nice to see the throws to man receivers that draw a PI. 2 called, should have been at least 3.
I think that is what NE gets with M Ruhle. Good guy but not going to get it done at PSU and NE will never be a top 5 in this environment.
Our QB is gettin better every game and can throw the ball down field. Grunk is getting comfortable back there and it’s showing up moving the chains. It ain’t a coincidence the the WR’s are starting to look good too.
Grunk had a good game. 11 for 12, several were wide open. The incompletion was a hold/PI and I think the ball was thrown well. The two PI's that were called were well thrown. So all balls thrown were thrown well. Now I can't say but I suspect most were to primary receivers so I can't say that he read the defense. My opinion was that our run game made the passing game easy. A lot of soft zones. Good game plan for Grunk because the running game worked. Did Allen just decide not to be stopped or did our offensive line dominate? I suppose both.
It was an odd game.
