Certainly would not be a “splash “ hire. Not saying he would not be a good head coach, just certainly not a “splash” hire as quite a few on here claim is happening.
His coaching experience? I don't think so. Now if he wants to recruit and coach WR's ....

@southern-psu-fan Funny, a few short weeks ago, SYR fans were up in arms because PSU was rumored to be looking at Fran Brown for HC. Won't be long 'til SY fans are grumbling and wishing PSU had taken Brown.
@been-there-ii I’m all about gettin a guy that fits in that I believe can bring championships to Penn St and I believe Manny can do that because of his track record being the DC at Penn St not because he can’t take Duke to the promised land. If we judge Kiffin on what he did with the Raiders and USC nobody would want him. Manny has proven he’s a good fit at Penn State. I’m judging Manny on his track record at Penn State not Duke or Miami.

@been-there-ii but sometimes it does work out look at Clemson, LSU and Ohio St and I’m sure there’s others. These have been in the last 10 years. I see manny and Kiffin in the same light. Kiffin got another chance and we see the results.

Neither one of those is happening...I want Cignetti but my gut feeling is we get Hartline (Who I don't view as high as I do Terry Smith) and because we get Hartline I think Knowles stays and AK is shown the door...I really think it is going to be Hartline sadly...Frankly I would rather have Terry than Hartline...My personal opinion is this next HC needs to be a proven head coach with a winning resume'...Honestly Terry Smith is growing on me...The guy really brings the juice...The kids love him...They play hard and I see improvement each week...There is also emotion on the bench...What differentiates Hartline from Terry Smith? I would argue that Smith has a better resume' than Hartline does...
@the-funeral-director I have no issue with giving Terry Smith a chance but don’t think it will happen.
