PSU #66 ???????
PSU #66 ???????
I'm also an Alabama fan as most of you know, and the Tide was #3 on that report.
So in conclusion, take it with a grain of salt. I say this with some experience around both teams... Alabama football ain't graduating better prepared student athletes than Penn State. Not even close.
Likely that Alabama found a way to fudge the data. Fact is that Joe’s legacy is fading.
I agree with what you're saying about graduating better prepared students, but #66. What are we doing to rank so low????
I looked at this 'metric' once before. It is not the old metric they used that I think they called Academic Success Rate or something like that. This is a newer metric they created to make the NCAA and schools like the aforementioned look good. Dig into this metric and you will find that it is improvement rate not a pure rate. Hard to improve much when you are very good.
I also noted several years ago that you could find raw data on the NCAA's site. Not available last time I looked. Years back they had sport minority success rate as compared to general student minority success and PSU football beat the general student population. Not so with most schools.
The NCAA has decided {Emmerit) that they aren't there to play school. If you are not performing well you have options:
1) improve performance....Grand Experiment. Success with honor...
2) redefine good
3) cheat
Find the calculation.....
It worked....most people are fooled. Few ask 'how could that be?'
I bet AL is better than say PSU, NW, ND... How? Remember the Sesame Street game. One of these things doesn't belong? Thinking is allowed.
This started under Emmett at the NCAA, I see he stepped down. Chancellor at LSU...'what is good for LSU Football is good for LSU'. So what might we read into his attitude? What is good for the NCAA is good for .....? NOT student athletes.
Is LSU above PSU? AR? OLE MISS? MISS State? if so JF needs fired (sarcasm}.
