Matt McGloin is set for his XFL debut as the starting QB for the New York Guardians this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Vipers. The game will be on national TV with a FOX telecast kickoff at 2PM. Look forward to seeing him in action again. Wishing Matt all the success in the world (as I do for all former Lions).
I really wouldn't mind seeing a good minor league form and do well
Me too, Roam. I hope the quality of play is decent. I'm a firm believer that heart & desire can often offset lesser talent, to a degree anyway.
If the league kept the same rules as last time, he could put Moxie on his uni if he wanted too. I still remember the player ...hehateme
If I heard it right, the local station eluded to drones for the overhead view instead of the "sky cam". lol IF, I heard it right.
I also heard they will occasionally broadcast live communications between the coach and QB likewise if I heard it right.
@bobs-dimpled-chin haha. I remember him. Rob Smart I think his name was
Saeed Blacknall is also playing for the LA wildcats and Deandre Thompkins is playing for the DC Defenders
Wish both of these former Lions well too!
I guess nobody took a chance with Hack. Shame he didn't pan out. He sure had his chances.
I saw that NY won handily, but finding stats on McGloins play is elusive. Been to XFL.com and that hated network, seen a few highlight plays, but nary a stat.
He'll go down in history or trivia as the player who scored the first touchdown in New York Guardian history! He capped the opening drive by pushing it over the goal on a line plunge.
Reminds me a little of Chuck Fusina when he QB'd the Philadelphia Stars in the old USFL.
