What coach would want to work at a program so paranoid that there is someone micromanaging who you hand sideline passes out to?EXACTLY...And who is watching him? Is he the only person that hands out the passes? Nobody questions why you got only fans tootsie pops on the field and who they are there for? Maybe this field pass stuff is more loosey goosey than I thought...I must be getting old...
Everybody has a boss Roam...At the end of the day these folks represent the University...You think Michigan wishes it had been monitoring this guy a little bit closer? I could be all wrong here but I am not a betting man but I am willing to put some money down that Michigan does some sort of an investigation of their inner process as a result of this and that there are some heads that will roll...
Michigan knew!
Yeah, they do. And I'd leave a job that was so up my a$$ they were monitoring my every move.Everybody has a boss Roam...At the end of the day these folks represent the University...You think Michigan wishes it had been monitoring this guy a little bit closer? They have less crime in North Korea too, but I don't exactly want that type of big brother stuff in my life.
Maybe our definition of micromanagement is different...I don't look over the shoulder of my employees as I trust them to do their jobs and conduct themselves in a proper and appropriate manner...However I do some oversight...I monitor the PC usage to make sure none of these nincompoops are eyeballing kiddy porn on my company PC's and I do have cameras inside and outside the facility to see who comes and goes...I don't need any hooker parties in my chapel with my employes banging girls in the caskets or on the biers...And yes...These things have happened at some of my associates firms in years past...I view this type of oversight in that regard...Who you got roaming the sidelines exposing your players to is significant to me...I don't need these guys distracted as they got a ballgame to play...Sorry but the sidelines should be limited to media outlets, former players and very special guests...I don't think the sidelines are any place for only fans "actresses" or tootsie pops and I do feel they should be screened before given a field pass...To me that ain't micromanagement but doing due diligence to avoid any unwanted situations...I could be just getting old but that is how I would run my football program...
Oversight of who the cosch is giving sideline passes out to is the definition of micromanaging and just weird.Maybe our definition of micromanagement is different...I don't look over the shoulder of my employees as I trust them to do their jobs and conduct themselves in a proper and appropriate manner...However I do some oversight...I monitor the PC usage to make sure none of these nincompoops are eyeballing kiddy porn on my company PC's and I do have cameras inside and outside the facility to see who comes and goes...I don't need any hooker parties in my chapel with my employes banging girls in the caskets or on the biers...And yes...These things have happened at some of my associates firms in years past...I view this type of oversight in that regard...Who you got roaming the sidelines exposing your players to is significant to me...I don't need these guys distracted as they got a ballgame to play...Sorry but the sidelines should be limited to media outlets, former players and very special guests...I don't think the sidelines are any place for only fans "actresses" or tootsie pops and I do feel they should be screened before given a field pass...To me that ain't micromanagement but doing due diligence to avoid any unwanted situations...I could be just getting old but that is how I would run my football program...
Talk about signaling to a coach you don't trust his integrity or decision making.
You think Michigan wishes they had supervised this guy a little bit closer?
And YES! I wouldn't allow the coach to decide who got sideline passes...He would be able to reject who I as an administrator gave a pass to but he wouldn't be giving out any passes without my consent...He is paid to coach a football team he ain't getting paid to be the social coordinator...
and if a coach didn't like that then I guess he isn't right for the job because if he is that worried about sideline passes he can't be to worried about paying attention to the team and the program...He needs to go work at a holiday inn as an event coordinator then...
Dumb comment. Anyone does anything bad and you could say the same thing. You think Michigan wishes they had supervised this guy a little bit closer?
Husband cheats on wife: "do you think the wife wishes she had monitored his phone more"
Bad decisions happen. What you are doing is using the benefit of hindsight to act like monitoring every little thing is justified. Acting like an overlord drunk on power is not a good answer
Have fun getting any good coach to come into a program that doesn’t trust them. Idiotic.and if a coach didn't like that then I guess he isn't right for the job because if he is that worried about sideline passes he can't be to worried about paying attention to the team and the program...He needs to go work at a holiday inn as an event coordinator then...
It's not that they worried about sideline passes, it's the fact that an AD would be so idiotic to hire a cosch and then so blatantly signal that they don't trust them and need to monitor everythibg they do. No coach worth a damn would sign on to have their integrity questioned in such a way
Nothing better than getting caught to someone feel remorse, but only because they got caught.
So let me get this straight...It is idiotic for a University to monitor who gets field passes? Something so easy to track and keep track of? So you think a coach will turn down a 10 to 15 million dollar a year coaching job with an 8 to 10 year contract guaranteed to coach at one of the iconic college football programs in the country because you are going to monitor or oversee the public relations aspects of a football game? We ain't asking the coach to see his cell phone to check who is he texting and calling...The University is maintaining it's right to supervise it's brand...I don't think this is idiotic at all...I think it is smart...If a coach is worried about me checking and tracking the field passes for a football game because he thinks I am micromanaging him then I don't think he is right for the job and I am sure there will be a line of very qualified and capable people who would love to take the job and could give a rats ass if the administration is going to supervise field passes...Just my take...Everybody thinks differently...I call it due dilligence...
Yes, an elite coach doesn't give a rats ass about Michigan if they are going to treat him like a convict and monitor everything he does. It's not rocket science, elite cosches want control. They don't want their integrity questioned every gameSo let me get this straight...It is idiotic for a University to monitor who gets field passes? Something so easy to track and keep track of? Your argument is paramount to saying if the cops stop you for no reason and you get mad, them then asking "if you did nothing wrong why won't you just answer our questions"
Treating people like they are breaking the rules or law for something so petty as field passes... yeah that is idiotic. What was Michigan going to do anyway? Rip his privileges because he invited one to many Instagram models? There is nothing that says he can't...
No...I am saying the cops should check you to make sure you have a ticket to get into the subway...That ain't the guy driving the trains the job...He is paid to drive the train...The guy who is driving the train don't need to be checking for tickets...I would think the coach would have better things to do than worry about sideline passes...We will never agree on this but I know as a business owner somebody gotta be the boss...The boss is the guy who signs the check...If the employee don't like how the place is run he can go...If I am the A.D. or admin the coach and players can make requests for who they want on the sidelines but I would be the guy making the decisions...They get paid to coach and play...They ain't event coordinators...I am sure Michigan will do an investigation and changes will be made to how those decisions are made and who makes them...They won't be having glorified hookers roaming the sidelines in the future...
You want the cops to stop people on the train or subway entrance randomly and ask for tickets? FFS man do you want a police state?No...I am saying the cops should check you to make sure you have a ticket to get into the subway...That ain't the guy driving the trains the job...He is paid to drive the train...The guy who is driving the train don't need to be checking for tickets...I would think the coach would have better things to do than worry about sideline passes...We will never agree on this but I know as a business owner somebody gotta be the boss...The boss is the guy who signs the check...If the employee don't like how the place is run he can go...If I am the A.D. or admin the coach and players can make requests for who they want on the sidelines but I would be the guy making the decisions...They get paid to coach and play...They ain't event coordinators...I am sure Michigan will do an investigation and changes will be made to how those decisions are made and who makes them...They won't be having glorified hookers roaming the sidelines in the future...
That is what the conductor or ticket inspector does... not the damn cops. Yeah you are right, if you want cops stopping everyone to check tickets on the subway... yeah we aren't going to agree. I don't want to live in a police state, I guess maybe you do?
