Exactly! That's what I was trying to say. Stuff that's "not supposed to be in the football forum" will pop up on occasion. This time it had to do with firearms and hunting. It was one thread, trying to be helpful, answering a question from a previous thread...on the football forum page.

We all know it's happened in the past and we all know it's going to happen again. As Mt Nit pointed out, the Football page is where we come to share our family stories with our Football family. We all know in a couple weeks, SPF will be telling Navy to get ready for NASCAR season. It's a rite of spring!

If it's not politically motivated, where's the harm in one post?

Because it's turned into more than one post before, and Cave had to come in and shut it down. He created the water cooler and outdoor sections because of precisely that. And came in again once or twice to tell people to place it in the correct forum. He's shut off comments in threads before because it was off topic.

That's why I'd rather remind people to place it in the right forum, so Cave doesn't have to come in eyes rolling and deal with us again. You say "what's the harm" in it? I say what exactly was the harm in pointing out or reminding someone that there's another forum for those posts?

What do you say we let it be over now! The only reason I mentioned the whole Muzzleloader thing was because Tsuga was having a tuff go at it and I was hoping it would take his mind off it.  Shoot me - no pun intended - for being a little caring about a fellow Roundtable member!

All I did was say that this type of post has a forum for it. That's it. I didnt ask for an apology, I didnt call anyone names, or anything like that. Why is everyone losing their collective minds about that simple reminder?

Anyways, I hope that clears it up... I wasnst mad or trying to chastise you or anyone else.

Maybe I could have said something along the lines of "Hey no worries, just remember for next time Cave created the outdoor or water cooler forum for these topics"

My apologies gents.  I should have put that thread in a different category but I wanted to make sure MNL got it.  I can see both sides of the argument here, Roam, BT and TH all have valid points.  They're all correct in their opinions but at the end of the day, I was the one that posted it here and I'll take responsibility for it. Had I have known some would get their knickers in a knot, I certainly would have posted it elsewhere. This brings to mind a saying that I once heard: "There are two kinds of men, ones that HAVE big dicks and ones that ARE big dicks. Make sure you know which side of the fence you're on"

FYI: Navylion and I have been emailing back and forth in regards to Tsuga and his health.  Monday evening Navylion let me know he was packed and heading back up to PA to be with his father. His father's body is slowly shutting down.  NL certainly has had a lot on his plate the last few weeks so when you hit your knees tonite, mention NL to the Man upstairs.

Lastly, thanks again to all those who shared your thoughts, kind words, and prayers while the old man was laid up.

No one is "losing their collective" mind about your simple reminder. Although apparently, those of us that don't agree with your view, must be.

I just didn't understand why, this one post about firearms and hunting, earned your reminder? As I said previously, we've talked about many subjects that aren't football related on this page, gardening, fishing, Big Green Eggs and BBQing, sub floor heating..to name a few more, but you were fine with those topics. It just seems like you're singling The Kid's post.

Yes, maybe your delivery could have been different. What I'm suggesting is, if it's not offensive, wait and see if the thread is a one time thing before you pull the trigger on issuing your reminder.

There is absolutely no need for an apology! If anyone should be sorry, it's me! I certainly didn't intend to make you feel bad or attacked for posting!!!! All I meant to do was place a simple reminder that another forum was available, that's it... but apparently it came of as snobbish or arrogant. Which was not my intention... at all.

That said, it's very sad to hear what Tsuga is going through. As Been There and Southern have already said, our thoughts are with him, Navy, and their family.
