Nice compliment, but only grading for 7 yrs?  Missed out on a lot of prior LB talent, LOL.

@rip. IMO bob we win 3 more games had Parsons played in 2020 he’s that big of a difference maker. It was a huge hit to the team him sitting out.

I don’t know about 3. Maybe they beat Indiana with a late stop to win, but with Clifford turning the ball over 3-4 times per game in those first 5 games, teams don’t win like that.

Agreed, Southern.  IMO, not only was he a huge difference maker, but it just seemed like the rest of the defense played with more intensity when he was on the field.

Micha is the new breed of college football player. They play until the NFL wants them. Not saying I blame him. It is what it is. And what it is, is something I am losing interest in.

@sky. The guy said Micah Parsons is the best LB he’s covered in the last 7 years so I don’t think it will be as many players as you might think that’s jumps to the NFL after 2 years Parsons is like Barkley an every 5 to 10 year stud you might land. Most players stay 4 or 5 years

Yup, but it's the ones that go that you really miss!

My opinion of it is this... Is college about learning useless information that you can always learn later in life after making millions, or is it about preparing you to succeed in life?

If it’s to prepare you for success, than it shouldn't hold you back when you are ready for it.

Well said.  The social life is a pretty important aspect of college too.  I look back on my time at SC and feel as if I missed out on something.  I had just finished my tour, was married with a two year old daughter and another one on the way.  I gotta say I was somewhat jealous of the guys that were getting laid every weekend and old Tsuga was stuck at home on a Saturday night learning the Latin names of trees for God's sake and trying to discern the difference between a hairy and a non-hairy racus.  Jealous may be putting it mildly, I was pretty pissed off as I recall.  Of course, If I'd have even thought of stepping out on the Mrs, you boys wouldnt be hearing from me today; that's for damned sure. So by now you're probably asking yourself: "What's that senile old fart rambling on about now"?  Hell, I dont know I guess to tie this all up in a tidy knot I feel cheated.  I feel cheated because we didnt have the opportunity to see this kid play another year or two.  Hell, I dont blame the lad for moving on, that's what we do in life; we constantly strive to progress to the next level.  In Micah's case, I just wish it didnt happen so damned fast.

All good points. But when it is all said and done, Micha Parsons did help PSU obtain the holy grail of college football.

@culture-thrives: UP??  (University Park)  Actually, we didnt live in UP we had an apartment in State College. I seem to think that married couples with kids werent allowed to live on campus.  I could be wrong, my wife will surely remember.

Typo;  meant to ask,

Did Parsons help Penn State win anything really important?  He was always more concerned about himself. Don’t think you win with guys like that. Give me Franco Harris, John Cappelletti, Jack Ham!

So your "typo" was an entire paragraph??  You're not even a good troll.

We had an 11 win season and a cotton bowl win so I’d say Parsons did help Penn State accomplish a lot. I’m sure we may have picked up a few recruits because of his time at Penn State as well and if he goes on to the NFL and has a great career that could help Penn St down the road. Penn St IMO benefited from having Micah Parsons on the team for 2 years.

@southern-psu-fan I just saw a mock draft that has Parsons going #4 overall to your Falcons.

You are making assumptions. How do you know that?

If 99's right and Parsons goes at #4, I'd say he too benefited by being on our team for 2 years!  Also validates his choice to leave early.

LB's can't win games on their own. We held a powerful OSU offense 20 points below their average and had the #8 defense in the nation. Our offense just couldn't move the ball against good teams. Parsons more than did his job.

No one position wins a game. Games are won when dedicated athletes are committed to the team. National Championships are not won with  guys like Parsons.

Seem Auburn won a NC with Cam Newton, and he's certainly never been considered a team guy.
