Turkey is draining from the brining. Early rising tomorrow, to toss it in the oven for Christmas lunch. Ham soon to be crock potting for tonight at lil Suzie's
@been-there-ii I got 3 turkey breast only in the brine now buddy. I’ll get ‘em out in the morning and put ‘em on the big green egg. Can’t wait 😁🦃🎄

A quick update here: My extended family is spending Christmas up in Maine with my grandparents. Because of both of their failing health, my mother suggested we all try to gather here for one last Holiday season. Tsuga is in the early to mid stage of dementia and has his good days and bad. He's fought a good fight and his race is about to come to a close. Grandma suffered a stroke a few years back and never quite recovered from that. Rest assured, we're going to make this a Holiday to remember. It's such a blessing that my 3 boys are able to see how much love their great-grandparents have for each other.

When he had the fall I was e-mailing him using my colorful Sailor venacular not realizing that Grandma was reading the e-mails to him!!! 😮 She politely and jokingly let me know that she was the conduit for the conversation. I knew right then and there what a special Lady she was!!

Just an FYI: I mentioned this to grandma and she vividly remembers. In fact, she remembered you by name. What a pair they are. She has a smart mind but a frail body. His mind and memory are slipping but he's as fit as ever for his age.
