Would that be good or bad ?? We just got done hanging with a group of PSU alum/fans from NYC at Primantis in Hershey and they swore to know for a fact that Riley is the guy.
- Heck no! He’s James Franklin at USC but not as good! If this dude is a splash then I don’t want a splash.
@southern-psu-fan there were chants of Fire Terry Smith at halftime
Get ready for 7-5 8-4 seasons if it’s Lincoln Riley. Look at USC if you don’t believe me.
@psujoe the game was at Rutgers..maybe Jim Knowles lol
are you telling me Homer that the big time donors want Lincoln Riley an average coach at USC and Oklahoma?

All I’m saying is this particular group of people who I have never hung out with before and just met today swore up and down that they know for a fact that Lincoln Riley will be the next head football coach at Penn State
I personally am waiting for the LK news
@psujoe dude on locked on is kinda reporting the same thing but you know how he is. I’ll take anybody we’ve been talking about over Riley.
it’s looking like LSU
We lost 3 more recruits the last 2 days. They’re going with James Franklin. I believe the Falcons are in charge of this Penn St coaching search

If it’s Lincoln Riley you don’t need to worry about recruiting.
They’re texting me it’s done. Riley is the guy.
i have no clue if they’re legit or not. All I know is they’re very confident in what they’re saying
@psujoe if we hire Lincoln Riley it’s coaching we’ll need to worry about. He’s not as good as James Franklin really not even close to James Franklin.
Are you saying he’ll bring players with him?
@psujoe there’s nothing positive about USC football for Penn St to make that move.
I wish I could stay out of this rumor mill crap but my curiosity continuously drags me back in.
Riley is 3x the recruiter Franklin is IMO. USC currently has the #1 class for 2026.
No way an $80M buyout is being paid out for Lincoln.
USC is going to be 9-3 this year?Get ready for 7-5 8-4 seasons if it’s Lincoln Riley. Look at USC if you don’t believe me.
@psujoe Check the record of wins and James Franklin did win a big 10 championship and a few big bowl games. USC hasn’t won much since he’s been there unless I missed it. Maybe he did and I wasn’t paying attention but I’ve been saying for a couple of years now he needed to be shown the door. His record is 34-17
The way Dabeor is coaching tonight I believe he’s going to Penn St and I’ll take him
The way Dabeor is coaching tonight I believe he’s going to Penn St and I’ll take him
What's that supposed to mean?
@psujoe the thoughts of gettin Lincoln Riley. I believe Dabeor is a good coach but I’d just rather have Diaz or Fitzgerald. Dabeor is a coach I’d definitely get behind. I’m going to pull for my guy but if it’s not him I’ll pull for whoever they hire. I honestly believe Jim Knowles needs to go, it just ain’t working.
Going for it on 4 and goal with not much time left when a FG gets you the lead to win the game. I was thinking this dude will get hammered if it doesn’t work and there were a few other questionable calls too but the plays work but man if they didn’t work he was going to get it. The dude was being very aggressive and it worked. It was like, whatever I’m probably not going to be here next year anyway I’m going for the throat. If anybody watched the game what did y’all think?
IMO, he didn't have confidence in his D being able to hold Auburn on a short field; he scores and leaves Bama in a pretty good situation, Bama doesn't score and hopefully the D can stop a 96 yard drive; nothing to lose imo at that point. DeBorer is a damn good coach and would have a job the next day or so if Bama wanted to run him out of town.
On a side note, it will be interesting to see who the top 12 teams will be next year at this time based on all the coaching movement coming. One year doesn't make a great coach. I've always said 3 years and you know pretty much what you have and by year 5, it's a good bet.
See the same thing in professional golf, all the announcers get a hard on if some young player is having a great year and then proclaim the second coming of Woods et.al. and very very few carry forward with the same success 3-5 consecutive years running.
Time always tells.
