You're absolutely right, Southern. Being a season tix holder for 40+ yrs and taking in more than my share of away games & bowl games, I've been blessed to see some great games! I think my all time favorite was the 1987 Fiesta Bowl when we beat Miami 14 -10 for the National Championship. Shane Conlan was awesome and really got in Testaverde's head. It was great to see Jimmy Johnson & his "bad boys" go down in humiliation. When the game ended, we jumped down on the field and were slapping our guys on their backs and taking it all in. We finally left and followed the Blue Band in a makeshift parade out of the stadium and marched to downtown Tempe where we partied hearty! I'll never forget that wonderful experience as long as I live!
@rip my brother and uncle are Miami fans and we were watching the game and when #90 got the INT I was all over the living room I almost passed out, my heart was pounding lolI bet it was fun watching live.
Sure was, brother. The noise was so loud, I couldn't even hear my pounding heart, lol!
@southern-psu-fan My favorite game I ever attended was the multiple overtime Orange Bowl against Florida State. Joe and Bobby were both up past their bedtime. Got back to the hotel some time after 1 AM.
The Coldest game ever was against Pitt late Nov. 1973. My girlfriend was sitting basically on my lap with both of us inside an army greatcoat. Only way (and a nice way) to stay warm.
It was also fun watching Cappelletti fumble the ball in 1972, the year before he won the Heisman. His nickname was Fumbletti that year. He was still great but he fumbled a lot. I was at a basketball game when at halftime he was presented an award. If he had just dropped the trophy the place would have gone wild (he did not).
Most of the games that I attended in those years were over before halftime.
The best game I ever saw on TV and probably will remain that forever, was the 1987 Fiesta bowl vs Miami. Heisman winner Vinny Testaverde and Miami looked to be unbeatable. I'll never forget the videos of Miami getting off the plane in camo outfits and PSU getting off their flight in jackets and ties. Every time a Miami receiver caught a ball the PSU d-backs punished them. Eventually it seemed they didn't catch a lot of the passes. Great game.
@psugrad81 the Miami NC game and the 2005 Ohio St game are my 2 favorite games. Tamba Hali was in Troy smiths head just like the LB’s and DB’s were in Miami head I remember Shane Conlan saying the Miami receivers didn’t want to catch the ball because they were getting pounded…4th and goal..National championship will be in my head until I die lol
Just trying to keep a good tread above the crap going on. Y’all seeing it I’m on my phone? We could go to the live thread that stays on top?
@southern-psu-fan Yeah, we're seeing it, looks like 4 pages worth this morning.

Miami - "We ain't sitting with them, did the Japanese sit with the US before Pearl Harbor?"
Penn State punter - "Didn’t the Japanese lose that war?"
LMAO forever legendary.
My guess is that Indiana beats Ohio State, and the three Big 10 Teams in the playoff are Oregon, Indiana, and Ohio State.
@tae-buetel that’s what scares me Tae. Is it better for us for Ohio State to beat Indiana because we’d get the benefit of the doubt with Indiana but no way with Ohio St?
Assuming they only take 3 big 10 teams
Ohio St will beat Indiana down. Ohio St by 21 or more
Oregon and OSU are in no matter what and we need to win big in the next 3 games. If we play like we have for most of the season the SEC lobbyists will start lobbying for some of those 2 loss teams to jump us and it would most likely happen.
Yes, it's much better for us if OSU pounds Indiana.@tae-buetel that’s what scares me Tae. Is it better for us for Ohio State to beat Indiana because we’d get the benefit of the doubt with Indiana but no way with Ohio St?
If OSU loses... We shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt with Ohio State in that scenario. They would have beaten us and their only two losses would be to the teams in the Big Ten Championship.
@roaminglion I’m saying the benefit of the doubt against Indiana if Ohio St wins. I agree, Ohio St beat us on our turf so they definitely should get in over us even if they have 2 losses and we have 1. Head to head always has to matter in nitty gritty time.
This strength of schedule argument is pure nonsense...Because they over rank the SEC teams so that whenever one of em wins that is a top 25 win...They don't even adjust them when they fall down in ranking...If they were ranked #10 when you beat em that is a top 10 win which is stupidity...I know Bama handled Wisconsin after their starter got hurt the 1st series...Wisky was winning when he got hurt...Texas beat Michigan...Who else has anybody in the SEC beat besides themselves? So I guess by this logic losing to Kentucky or Arkansas is better than beating Iowa or Wisconsin or Nebraska? I warned all of you of this nonsense at the beginning of the season...They wanna pack this thing with SEC teams...They wanna overseed them so they don't have to travel north to play in December because then the whole SEC dominance nonsense is going to be exposed for what it is...Nonsense...So these people are having a tough time convincing people that a 3 loss team deserves to be in ahead of a 1 loss team...So now they are going to bitch, piss, whine and moan and have a temper tantrum cause they are only gonna put 4 teams in from that conference and 4 B1G teams are gonna get in...I have an answer for that...Don't lose to Kentucky, Arkansas and Vanderbilt and you won't have to watch the playoffs...The only SEC team that I think is any good is Ole Miss...They are gonna give teams trouble cause of their Defensive front...The rest of em I believe any of the big 4 B1G teams can handle em...Especially when you make em come up to Penn State, Ohio State or Indiana in December...Easy to play home games during bowl season in your back yards...Lets see how good these teams are come December playing up north in the elements...Trust me...They won't have to cause they will seed them so Notre Dame plays one of em and the Team of 5 rep will play one of em and so on...This whole deal is a fraud...What I said was going to happen is going to happen...I told ya all how it was gonna shake out...
@the-funeral-director Penn St and Ohio St will be tough but I don’t believe Indiana scares the heavyweights in the SEC. Indiana will get dominated by Ohio St next week and we better beat down Minnesota. I’m hoping Oregon will lose that will put us in the big 10 championship game I think.
Who are these so called "Heavyweights" in the SEC? You mean the teams that lost to Vanderbilt? or to Arkansas? Or Kentucky? Sorry I ain't afraid of any team in that conference...I think Indiana is better than all of those teams so therefor I figure they can hang around with any of em and especially if they gotta travel up and play em in Bloomington in late December...
@the-funeral-director when the playoffs get here the games get harder to win. Indiana just doesn’t have the talent Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas A&M or Texas does.
Again...I believe Indiana is better than Arkansas, Kentucky and Vanderbilt...So I like their chances in Bloomington in December against any of them SEC teams...
TLDR; let me guess, it's rigged and the SEC sucks. Again...Who have they played? You think Indiana is better than Vanderbilt? Kentucky? Arkansas? If the answer is yes then they can beat any of them SEC teams...Win your games...
