It's not the season many wanted but it is here. For me, the season began last night with a trip to Birmingham to watch the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) play the University of Central Arkansas (UCA).
I'll also try to watch some games this weekend. However, I was really looking forward to watching Penn State this season to see if Clifford would step out of McSorley's huge shadow. I wanted to see Journey Brown, Noah Cain and Devyn Ford shred defenses. I was hopeful that Dotson, George and the other receivers would show their true potential and the Freirmuth and the TE Corps would be overly productive. On the defensive side, I wanted Penn State to be an oppressive force that made opponents quit because they realized the futility. I wanted to see defensive players step up and prove to opponents that Penn State will still be strong after Parsons leaves. But we have the season the we have and that will have to do.
Before this who fiasco, I was really optimistic about the upcoming year. I felt the defense would be better than last year, possibly one of the best in PSU history. We had that type of talent, if it all came together.
Also, with the new OC and the talent on offense it seemed like Clifford would have a break out year. This team was stacked, and IMO could seriously challenge Ohio State straight up.
But alas, not meant to be.
There is some serious chatter over on the 247 audibles board from a so called inside but credible source that the BIG powers that be have been and still are meeting right now about an October 10th start date. According to the source an announcement could be coming as early as today. Supposedly the meeting(s) have not been publicly disclosed and have been kept airtight secret. Of course I'm skeptical. We'll see but if you are interested in the posts you should check out the thread over there.
Also today we got another 4* offensive lineman commit today. Penn State is quietly starting an excellent 2022 class so far with another 4* defensive lineman next week set to announce...100% crystal ball picks psu.
With everything that has gone on, it would be nice to see Penn State play but whatever happens this year really is going to mean nothing to me.
In my mind whoever wins the national title this year, the SEC title, whatever title you want to mention... it's a big old asterik for me, it just won't feel like a valid title to me.
I’ll take every win and NC I can get regardless of what’s going on. I believe if we get to play you’ll see it that way as well. I was in Alabama today listening to the Jay barker show and they said the big 10 made a big mistake canceling the season and they also have a PR problem whatever that means. I don’t know about a PR problem but it wasn’t the best move canceling the season when 3 of the top 5 power conferences are practicing for the upcoming season. Water under the bridge get back on the field ASAP and forget about your pride.

I would feel the same if we were playing. I feel the same about the other sports as well.
