Officially dropping the name, keeping the colors. No replacement name has been picked yet, though some say that the leading candidates are Warriors, Red Wolves, and Redtails.

@tsuga I'm annoyed that you're only highly offended....I think.  If you're gonna be offended, be extremely offended or don't bother, Brother!

Hey while I'm being offensive, ya didn't say if you were tapping your next door neighbor lady last spring....and where the hell is your Grandson?

I found this very funny, it's from the Babylon Bee (Sarcastic website like the Onion): https://babylonbee.com/news/heres-whats-problematic-with-each-of-the-nfls-32-team-names

Amid calls for justice, NFL teams are taking bold steps to change their team names and end racism. This has caused controversy since everyone is racist. Are you confused? Never fear! We at The Babylon Bee are here to educate you. We believe that all 32 teams were built by a system of whiteness that must be dismantled, one team name at a time.

We MUST do better. Here is why every NFL team name is very problematic:

Arizona Cardinals - Too religious.

Atlanta Falcons - Celebrates one of the cheapest Smash Bros. characters, who is a smug little punk only jerks choose.

Baltimore Ravens - Named after the Disney Channel show That's So Raven without the POC protagonist's permission.

Buffalo Bills - Bills are an evil byproduct of capitalism.

Carolina Panthers - The panther was appropriated wholesale from Wakandan culture.

Chicago Bears - Murderous bears should never be celebrated.

Cincinnati Bengals - It just sounds racist. We're looking into it.

Cleveland Browns - Brown what? Are you talking about skin color again? Sounds like white fragility.

Dallas Cowboys - A mutant half boy, half cow is tragic and shouldn’t be used as a mascot.

Denver Broncos - Horses have been subjugated and enslaved for millennia.

Detroit Lions - Lions are not vegans.

Green Bay Packers - Glorifies butcherous meat packers. Meat causes global warming. Gross.

Houston Texans - Celebrates the most racist state in the Union.

Indianapolis Colts - This name glorifies guns.

Jacksonville Jaguars - Jaguars are driven by evil rich billionaires as they run over poor people.

Kansas City Chiefs - We suggest switching to Kansas City Wise Indigenous Tribal Elders.

Las Vegas Raiders - Celebrates The Raiders of the Lost Ark, which featured prominent Nazi imagery.

Los Angeles Chargers - We don't think anyone who has faced down a line of charging riot police would find this name the least bit funny.

Los Angeles Rams - Dodge Rams contribute heavily to the climate crisis.

Miami Dolphins - Painful reminder that Sea World still exists.

Minnesota Vikings - Associated with patriarchy-dominated Norse mythology.

New England Patriots - REEEEEEEEEEEE

New Orleans Saints - Goes against the constitutional principle of separation of church and sports.

New York Giants - They prefer the term "persons of height."

New York Jets - The burning of jet fuel contributes to global warming.

Philadelphia Eagles - Eagles are a well-known Nazi symbol.

Pittsburgh Steelers - Steel contributes to global warming.

San Francisco 49ers- The gold miner mascot hearkens back to manifest destiny and the destruction of Mother Earth

Seattle Seahawks - Birds are unable to give consent to have their name used as mascots.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers - This one's actually OK because they were probably just stealing bread to feed their families.

Tennessee Titans - Reinforces the harmful idea of power structures and male-dominated hierarchies.

Washington Redskins - Nothing wrong with this one as far as we can tell.

We hope this informative list is a wake-up call to the NFL. If we continue to work on ourselves, we can help the NFL become more inclusive! Within 20 years, we may get them to put down the ball and kick it around as the ancient Aztecs intended us to.

that was really funny, especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, “because they were probably stealing bread to feed their families”.

@been-there-ii:By God you're right, I'm officially EXTREMELY OFFENDED!!  I hope I didnt offend anyone by using God in my response.  In regards to the sap boiling and my neighbor's bush; I had to hand the reigns over to a son-in-law and take on a consultant roll from here on out.

In regards to my neighbor, I only used her for her abundance of sugar maples and the ease in tapping them in order to get to that sweet nectar that was held within.......I'm still talking about her sugar bush, not the other one.  The best way to describe her would be Rosie O'Donnell with buck-teeth, crooked nose and a slight mustache.  Everyone has a right to be ugly but she abuses that privilege.  In fact, I'm fairly certain that she fell out of the ugly tree and hit every damn branch on the way down. Why, she's so damn ugly that when she walks into a corn field, the crows bring back the corn they stole three years ago.  Some years ago she went to the beach to work on her tan and a group of people surrounded her and tried to roll her back into the surf.  She's not just ugly BT, she's fugly.  Her parents had to tie a pork chop around her neck so the dog would play with her.  So PLEASE, keep all that in mind when your mind starts to drift into the ditch.  Hell BT, c'mon up here and I'll introduce the two of you.  If anything, she'll be happy to keep your warm on those cold Maine winter nights that are quickly approaching!! Remember back in the day when our Mom's tried to play matchmaker and ya say "Mom, what does she look like?" and Mom would answer "She has a nice personality"?  This is that girl!!

As for the G-son: He too is kinda tired of all the political banter and has pretty much moved on the greener pastures.  Actually the political talk wasnt all of the reason.  A few months back there was some know-it-all that was on here briefly that would take to insulting what he calls "the Founding Fathers of the Forum".  I dont even remember the guys name but I do kinda remember him being on here.  The final straw was Murray pretty much calling the rest of us stupid back when he was trying to tell us that the season would start on time with full stadiums.  He may come back one day, who knows??  I'll tell him you asked about him.

Stay safe Brother!!

@tsuga  Congrats!! From what I've seen, consulting pays better and is less work! And in this case, you don't have to stay up late nor get up earlier than you really wanted to.

Thanks. As much as I'd love to drop by to visit you and the Mrs., I've already got a neighbor that fits your neighbor's description. AND!! She would wake me from a sound sleep when she was screeching and cussing at her poor departed husband in the middle of the night. So, if I wanted a scary chick, I'm sure she'd be available and she's way closer to home. lol At present, she only comes around if she wants me to fix something, other than that, she can't even be bothered to wave as she flies by on her vroom broom.

Yes, please send "the kid" my regards.

hey BT, I just read something on the news that something big is about to come down on the deadskins? I didn’t say what it was though. It’s really bad from what the article said.

very funny stuff there tsuga.
tell your grandson hello, he is a legend in Penn State wrestling circles, I wish he would announce himself but I understand respectIng his anonymity. Very humble dude!

in defense of Murray, he is a great guy and knows his football. We all get a little super charged about things we are passionate about, nothing wrong with that.

I guess what gets me sometimes are people who constantly tell you they are an expert in something, and therefore should be listened to... yet when the conversation shifts to another topic those same people go out of their way to say they know better than experts in that field, that those experts are wrong, and that anyone listening to them are "sheep".

You are right Roam, I don’t like it either and regrettably I’ve been that guy on more than one occasion. I’ve spent time with Murray at least 3 times and spoke on the phone with him several times more for the purpose of obtaining football video of my HS alma mater. I’m just saying he’s a good guy you and any one on this forum would enjoy having a beer and a few chuckles with.

I don't doubt it. I imagine things on here come across much more harsh than if you were just in a bar having beers and talkin.

@roaminglion: Had he prefaced just one or two of his comments with "its my opinion" or "I believe", or even "I think" I'd be willing to give him a pass.  However he came on here several times and pretty much intimated that many on here were foolish to not believe what he was saying didnt sit well with me either.  The fact that he doesnt have the integrity to show back up and say that he f*cked-up and was wrong speaks volumes.

That's my two cents, for what its worth

Tsuga... remember, nobody’s perfect. BUT, if you are looking to be the best that you can be, you can buy my CD’s or attend one of my life supercharging seminars for a nominal fee.

@lakerie: I never said I was nor did I say he was. In fact, I never said a thing about perfection. The man was so obsessed with not being wrong that he never stopped to think about what is right. I support anyone that takes a stand no matter that our opinions differ. What I dont cotton to is having my intelligence insulted because of that.

Perhaps there are those that are ok with someone suggesting they're foolish or idiots because they dont have the same beliefs/opinions that they do. Im not one of those people.

Again, the man came on here and pretty much called anyone that didnt go along with his line of thinking fools and idiots. I really dont give two shits what the man knows about HS football, im not impressed by that at all.

My awkward attempt at humor missed the mark. I hear you loud and clear Tsuga and should not have put you in a position to explain. I don’t disagree with you at all. Tony Robbins cracks me up though...him and Jim Bakker, well, and Tammy Faye.
