Big Ten official statement: https://bigten.org/news/2020/8/11/general-big-ten-statement-on-2020-21-fall-season.aspx

This is a case study in why people think the media is "fake news", because when they break a story that is right, of course a bunch of people come out and deny it. "Oh no no no, we haven't made any decisions yet". YES YOU DID, this didn't just happen in the past hour. You made a decision and wanted to announce it Tuesday, but when it came out you had to play politics as if no decision had been made yet.

The news reported it right, and then a bunch of people tried to call it fake news and lied.

The news cycle certainly was interesting. No doubt it was a difficult decision to make. The delay in making the official announcement could be because of a myriad of complex reasons.

When I think about the disappointment that college athletes are experiencing, I think about all the young kids that hit the beach in Normandy that never made it home. While this may appear to be an extreme comparison, but in the end, these kids are just playing a game. I am confident that our coaches will turn this situation into a positive lifelong learning experience for the student athletes.

I hear you Sky. Yes football is cancelled, but it's good to have perspective... It's just football after all.
