@mtnittanylion you think Purdue, Michigan St and Michigan will beat’em? I ain’t seeing it but I do hope you’re right buddy lol
Honestly, as much as I don't like Ohio State, I hope they make it and represent us in the Playoffs. I am tired of losing to them, but then again if I was a Buckeye fan, I would happy as a Lark TODAY!
Yes, I think they lose one of the last three games which could put the Big10 in a pickle. I didn't look at closely, so correct me if I am wrong:
1) if a Team from the West wins the Big10....I don't see the Big10 with a playoff berth
2) if Ohio State gets upset by Purdue, but then wins the Big 10.....I don't think they get in with 2 losses
3) if Ohio State beats Purdue and loses to either Mich or Sparty, they are out of the playoff picture.
Here is where Penn State comes into play. If they beat both, Mich and Sparty and Ohio State loses one of their last three games....no Big10 Play off berth.
This is going to be a scramble the last 4 weeks for the Big10! PSU, Mich, Sparty and Ohio State all play each other....that is very difficult schedule for all 4 teams. Then you factor in a Purdue team that is playing pretty well and a Wisconsin Team that seems to be on a little roll at 5-0 now?
I don't see a 2 loss Big10 Champion getting into the playoffs and there is a very good chance this will happen. And I don't see Cincy jumping any Power 5 team with one loss. So, if Bama beats Ga, I see them both in. I tink Cincy makes it in ONLY of the they are undefeated and the next two power 5 teams after GA and Bama have 2 losses.
THis is going to be a very interesting finish. The best that the CFP committee can hope for is SMU crashing Cincy's party.
@mtnittanylion the only team that OSU could lose to is Michigan . And Michigan will have to play mistake free and force OSU into 2-3 turnovers for that to happen . The law of averages is in Michigans favor too right ? I meen OSU has beat them so many times in a row its laughable . Like I said , OSU isnt losing to Purdue 2x in a row .2-3 yrs ago when Purdue mopped them they are still bringing that up on espn and such today .Day will have them ready to put up 50 + on Purdue . Mich St is just overrated .I could see them falling apart down the stretch .
@cantonlion The next time Ohio St loses will be in the playoffs. I don’t see Michigan beating them
Clearly they go if they win out. I think they should go even if they have 2 losses and win the B10.
@underlion depends on the other teams record but imo Ohio St will have played the toughest schedule at the end of the season so if any team should get in with 2 losses it should be Ohio St

Are you kidding? If we beat Michigan and Michigan State... then NO ONE on Ohio State's schedule would even be ranked in the top 15. Bunch of 3 loss teams or more, including whatever crap team the West sends thejr way.
@roaminglion we would be ranked maybe in the top 10 if we win out
Maybe, but I'm afraid that Illinois loss is going to be hard to shake.
@roaminglion we would be ranked maybe in the top 10 if we win out
We aren't getting a top 10 ranking after losing 3 games, one of them being Illinois.
@southern-psu-fan a 2 loss Ohio St is not getting in over undefeated Cincy .No Way .If that happens , there will be torches and pitchforks at the door of the CFP committee . The team that should be pissed off right now is oklahoma . they havent looked great ,but either has Ohio St . And , they are undefeated I dont think there is much seperating them and OSU ,and yet ,OSU is 4 and Okla. is 8???. In the big picture , none of these ranking meen anything .Just the last one .
@cantonlion This is by far, the worst CFP Committee I have ever seen..Ive been saying for years, just go by the AP poll, the writers normally get it right.(You'll save all the time and travel money being expended by flying these clowns all over the country..And for every writer who may vote the 5th best team in the country, 20th for example, he/she gets more than balanced out by the 64 or so other writers..But in a committee of 13, a few whackos can do a lot of damage.
OKlahoma at 8, notwithstanding their close wins, is a joke..The writers and coaches both have them 4th, so this committee knows more than them? A joke..Oklahoma faces a three team gauntlet next, they may lose but for now, theyre undefeated..And youre right, MSU is vastly overrated, not better than Notre Dame, a fact acknowledged by the writers..and coaches and by ESPN U this week when they took on a MSU fan, ,asking him directly, do you really think MSU is better than ND, a voice begging the question..Purdont waxed MSU,and in turn was soundly defeated by ND..a ND team that is playing better now..
Just turn it over to the AP...Normally the CFP Committee mirrors the AP..or very close to it...If the games played dont matter, no reason to play the games..
In the end it really doesn’t matter. The system is still a pretty dress show and you can still put 1 of 3 or 4 teams in an ugly dress and they will still get a date night barring a completely ragged out record.
When the show moves to a HS or D3 or 2 model, then it can be called a Championship series. Anything less is nothing more than fandom fodder chatter and stacked Vegas odds
If Ohio St is ranked higher than an undefeated Oklahoma right now, what makes you think they won’t put Ohio St in over Cincinnati even if they have 2 losses? These people know Ohio State ain’t lost to a team in Ohio in over a 100 years and again, there’s a reason why. Personally I don’t think Ohio St will lose again I just said if Ohio St has 2 losses they deserve to get in over any other 2 loss team.
@southern-psu-fan Ohio State isnt getting in with 2 losses no matter what else happens . Only team that has a prayer to make it with 2 losses is Alabama and that would meen smoking their next 3 opponents and then losing in a very tight game to Georgia in SEC Champ. Again, I think this thing will work itself out this year as i dont see Oklahoma running the table and i would not be surprised if Cincy stumbles .
@cantonlion What is the tOSU nation saying about Julian Fleming? They do have a great stable of recievers so I wondered if he was getting swallowed up in that debth. If I heard it once, I heard it too many times about their "embarrassment of riches".
@lakerie i think he is being swallowed up a bit on depth chart .Obviously next year when theres no Olave or Garrett ,the #1 will be Smith -Njigba...BUT Marvin Harrison Jr , and Emeka Ebuka(sp?) are big time freshman and Fleming is no lock to be a starter next year either but definetly should be in mix alot more . And next yr OSU has 3 of the top 25 WR s in country coming in ...I live near Columbus and we do have a nice one coming to Penn st ..Kaden Saunders out of Westerville ..FAST . But small .5 ft 9 /10 175

Can we please stop mentioning "100 years in Ohio" as some sort of good metric considering OSU and Cincy have only played 11 times ever?
Who cares what happened 50 years ago, how do you even think that matters?
@roaminglion consistently beating up on them lightweight teams does matter!
I noticed the CFP committee still has the Tide #2 and they will stay there until they win or lose against Georgia. Oklahoma will be in the playoffs if they win out. You can look at this anyway you want but ole southern sees Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon and Ohio st as the teams that will be in the playoffs. They ain’t goi g take a chance and let Cincinnati get in the playoffs and get destroyed by any of them teams I just mentioned and take that 10 million dollars with ‘em. Ain’t going to happen.
@roaminglion consistently beating up on them lightweight teams does matter!
9 wins and 2 losses in 100 years against Cincy is not what I would call "consistent"
@southern-psu-fan i agree that Cincy is being treated like the red headed step child here . I think if they win out , the big ten will shake out or the big 12 will shake out and cincy will get in . And if BAMA has 2 losses they should be left out .As for us, OSU has now beat us what 5 yrs in a row?? We need to start beating them at least 1 out of every 3 times we play them or better or we will never get into the NC discussion .
@cantonlion Cincinnati is being treated fair imo they don’t belong in the playoffs they will get drilled. UTSA is also 9-0 and also would get drilled in the playoffs. With only 4 spots the CFP committee can’t take a chance letting these second tier teams like Cincinnati and UTSA in the playoffs. Even if the Tide loses 2 games y’all know dang good and we’ll they would beat the chit out of Cincinnati and UTSA. Last year some people wanted coastal Carolina in all I can say is I’m glad the CFP committee ain’t buying it. The top 4 playoff spots is where the big dawgs fight it out baby, if you put any lightweights in they’ll get drilled! Cincinnati and UTSA do deserve a good bowl though if they finish undefeated
UTSA didnt beat ND in their house, a team ranked in the top 10.
That comparison is beyond ridiculous.
@roaminglion I’m not comparing the 2 teams I’m just saying neither one of ‘em belong in the playoffs but I do believe if they finish undefeated they should get a top bowl just to see how they stack up against the big boys.
