I don't think Ohio State makes it through Purdue, Mich and Mich State without another loss. So what happens if they lose another game and Penn State takes care of Mich and Sparty? The Big10 will have at least a 2 loss Champion.

Either Ohio State or Sparty needs to win out or the Big10 is sitting home.

I don’t believe Ohio St will lose another regular season games or the big 10 championship game they’ll be in the playoffs. They just got to much talent

It is going to be very interesting the rest of the way.  I agree, Ohio State has a lot of talent, but I think their schedule after Oregon has hurt them.  They struggled against Penn State and Nebraska.  They play like that against Bama, OK or GA, they will get crushed!

Helton probably had him on scholarship. Tomorrow you will see him in the transfer portal.

@mtnittanylion   Every time Ohio St, Penn St and Michigan hits the field with teams like Illinois or Indiana that’s their super bowl and they usually get these teams A game that’s why you see some of these close scores like yesterday with Nebraska but Ohio St got the win and they probably didn’t play all that good. I don’t have a problem with Illinois playing us tough in a close game, my problem with James Franklin is he loses to many of these games and something needs to change even if it’s him leaving or gettin fired. Unlike Penn State and Michigan, Ohio St 99% of the time finds a way to win instead of finding a way to lose. When you can’t put teams away and let them hang around it ain’t goi g to end good on some weekends. 2 or 3 times yesterday if Clifford can make the throws we give Maryland a butt kicking but since he didn’t make the easy TD throw we end up in a dawg fight. We got the talent we just ain’t putting all the pieces together. This is just what I see.

Southern, I don't want to sound like a cry baby, but I think the X factor in Ohio State winning 99% of these close games is the favorable treatment they always seem to get from the B1G refs.  That's something we can never count on, especially when John O'Neill's crew is on the field, lol!

I find the "it's their Super Bowl and we will always get their A game" such a tired and overplayed excuse. As if Rutgers takes off the week they play Illinois just to prepare for Ohio State.

@roaminglion  come on roam, you know when we are in a whiteout the intensity of the game is different than if we’re playing on the road at NW. teams have bad weeks and they have weeks where they get fired up did you not watch the Illinois game the players were flat.

It is? Then why are we 9-8 in the games?

Are you saying that Ohio State or Penn State wouldn't play as well if people didn't dress in white? There's a difference between not being prepared and playing your hardest.

I have no doubt the players tried their best when playing Illinois. What I do believe is they didn't prepare and had lackadaisical practices, and/or overlooked them. I played Division 1 sports and knew a lot of athletes, and not one of them bought into the "didn't play our hardest" trope. It's for fans and journalists. Sometimes you just get beat, sometimes you don't prepare, but very rarely do you not show up and try hard.

@roaminglion  we’re 9-8 in the whiteout because we’re playing Ohio st and Michigan most of the time 2 big time rivalries and most of them games we were probably underdogs and were supposed to lose. Home field advantage is real in college football just like home field advantage is real in the NFL when teams are at home in big games they are more fired up and they play better. Just my opinion though

We also lost to Purdue and Iowa in those games. Not just Michigan and Ohio State... In fact just about half of our wins came against Michigan.

And no, teams aren't "more fired up" to play at home. Vegas gives about 1.5 points for the team playing at home, but mostly attributes it to travel and the rigors of going on the road to play. It's not some supernatural "I'm so hyped to play in front of my home fans" nonsense. It's just plain ridiculous to think that professional athletes somehow will themselves to play harder at home, and don't try as hard on the road.

Vegas this year? Here's what they are doing: "Obviously a small sample size here but NFL home field "advantage" so far this season: -0.57 points Last season: 0.175 points"

So right now Vegas is adjusting down -0.57 for "home field advantage". Real powerful.

It's just a leftover thing from when travelling was much harder than it is now. Yeah, going on the road in the 50's-90s was not nearly as easy or comfortable as it is today. Amazingly, statistically you can look up how much home field advantage meant back then, to how little it really means now. It's just not as important anymore, and I doubt it has anything to do with players being "fired up" more back then.

Good thing you are not a HUGE gambler.....you would lose your shirt this weekend.  I am taking Purdue and the points! I think Purdue pulls off another upset.  If they don't, I think you are looking at another Penn State/Nebraska type of game vs Ohio State.

Purdue is playing well this year.  They have been in every game but keep pulling a Penn State thing and losing them in the second half.  I know old Southern thinks Ohio State has a lot of talent ( which they do ) but Ohio State has yet to beat any team of significance this year. Penn State is there best win so far this year.....and that ain't saying a lot considering Penn State's current state of affairs!

Ohio State will finish the season with at least 3 losses and I wouldn't be surprised if Penn State finishes ahead of them when the dust settles. Don't think for a minute that Purdue, Sparty and Michigan hasn't been following their last two games and also watched how Oregon took them down. All you need to do is pass short against them ( vs their right side of the defense) and get CJ running around in the backfield and the mistakes will happen!!

Penn State?  They have made every possible mistake that can be made in one season. I don't think there is anything left, so I like Penn State taking care of Michigan and winning out! Liked that 4th quarter against Maryland, defense showed that they are one of the best in the country and now it is time for the Offense to get it going!!!

GO STATE!!!

@mtnittanylion OSU is nt finishing behind us . Go ahead and bet Purdue but id advise against it . Day will have that Purdue score from the last time up at practice all week .Despite OSU not dominating PSU or Neb ,OSU can blow out anyone when motivated . I was at the OSU /Oregon game .  OSUs defense has improved 100% since then . They put Kerry Coombs in the booth and let Barnes take over the calls and its night and day . They are playing alot of true freshman as well. Just stating some facts

Since the Oregon loss, HOW MANY TOP RANKED TEAMS did Ohio State beat?  Play? No wonder their defense has improved.  However, how did their defense fair against a fairly average Penn State offense? Nebraska Offense? What they did was to fair out way better against Frost and JF play calling/decisions!

Like I said, I will be the first to OWN anything I say.....dumb or not! But I think Ohio State is about to close out with 3 more losses.

Am I getting the vibe that some of y’all think Ohio St will get left out of the playoffs if they win out to get  Cincinnati in? Y’all got all over me a few weeks ago when I said the big 10 champ might get the shaft? Ohio st won’t lose another game unless they make the playoffs

Ohio will get in if they win out.....which MT.Nittany is saying ain't going to happen! I am predicting they have 3 losses when the final season is over.
