At the team level, I don't think its anyone's fault in particular. Playerwise, those dudes aren't laying down, give the ISU players credit for walking into a B10 schedule and giving it ago; not all players look for that level of competition, in some cases because you know you're going to be exposed, but they weren't afraid to give it a run.
At the AD level, yeah, I think PK f'd up, but hey, if part of the plan included a coulpe shitty years going forward, then, ok he owns it and let the chips fall as they may.
I think all sides have done what they thought was best for them given the circumstances.
I do think a HC and his coordinators at this level have to be able to adapt game time with the players on the field and/or off; and some coaches aren't able to that or do it effectively. I don't think that is a blame game, that's a professional expectation.

Someone noted we didn't have the players to win but the reality is we were in every game but NW. With a QB as sold, a healthy #1 receiver and lets throw in AC at LB and we might be undefeated. We clearly are not a Alabama, OSU etc team that can just show up. Good grief we are short 5 B10 level players to run the table this year. I get it that PK was late, maybe overshot what was possible, but your point 2 that a couple of below average years is OK if it was the right investment.
The culture decision was verbalized, we are not going to be Oregon or the Yankees and I can see not spending big $ on NIL the first year even if we had it. I suppose that based on our poor timing we would have had to pay even more of a premium to get 'A' players from places that had already bid up the price and had some commitment. It was part of the investment to get rid of JF the failure was the slowness of not having a coach in waiting when we fired JF. And MC was not in waiting or even available in a timely manner. I suppose we could have let JF lose a few more games while we put out feelers?

I am not sure that cap bill passed congress yet...It passed in the Senate but it may have trouble getting through the house...That isn't a done deal yet fella's and it may not happen...
You really can't evaluate the coordinators or lower level coaching staff because the talent is that bad...You could bring Vince Lombardi back from the dead and he ain't winning with this team...The talent isn't there...all of that kumbaya shit is fantastic if you have a competitive team from a talent standpoint...He don't have it there...They are just outmanned from a personnel talent standpoint...especially up front where games are won and lost...This is bad...Real bad...
