I am just curious here. Did any of the mentioned coaches take over a MESS like JF did and have similar success? Is a great coach only measured by his National Championships? Year three he wins a Big10 title and gets boxed out of the CFP.
I am not saying he is a top 5 coach either. But he is far from a bum as you seem to make him sound like!

As for what they took over, nothing as bad as it was at PSU... but not really great either. Saban took over a team that went 4-9, 6-6, and vacated 23 wins over the next 3 seasons because of sanctions.
Dabo took over a good team, but nothing great.
However, yeah after 9 years I think it is time to start evaluating titles... the sanctions are over and have been for a while.
@roaminglion I’m not big on Jimbo Fisher and I do believe when James Franklin is concentrating on football alone he’s as good as anybody out there but I do agree with you, it’s year 9 and it’s time to put up or shut up. I’m very frustrated with Franklin because the last 2 years have been crap because he’s been worried about other stuff other than winning football games. I honestly believe if his mind was on 100% football he wouldn’t have made a few mistakes that’s cost him.

@been-there-ii I believe he will BT. I know everything he was fighting for was for the good of Penn St football but he let it distract him from the football field. I know when James Franklin has his head in the game we win a lot of football games. 11 or more wins are on the way baby just wait and see 😁
@southern-psu-fan : I can think of 70 million reasons why his head better be in every game. If not, his ass should be out the door.
@t-hale I agree. James Franklin is one of my favorite coaches ever but the last 2 years are unacceptable but I do believe he deserves another year to get this thing going back in the right direction. I’m pretty confident we’ll see the old James Franklin this year and going forward winning a lot of football games.
