Expect some Growing pains this season. Lost a bunch to the NFL.Oh, but I forgot, this is Penn State. Mcsorely and the Offense are just going to come out , get the ball down field with 60 yard passes to land a spot for the NC.
Keep swinging Suzy.
I dont recall anyone on this forum predicting a football national championship or for that matter a B10 ship. That said expectations are and should be high with the build up in debth especially in critical areas like o-line and defense. I agree with you that growing pains are to be expected with a new O coordinator, featured running backs, and loss of Barkley, Gesicki, Blacknall and Hamilton to name a frw.
I honestly don't expect growing pains on offense. Yes, Barkley is gone but the OL will be a strength now and we will see more downhill running. Even if Miles Sanders doesn't light the world on fire, I'm confident we have enought talented backs to choose from that we will be fine in that department.
As for TE? Let's be honest... he wasn't a TE, we really lost 2 WRs. Our TE this year will block better, but obviously won't be the threat Gesicki was in the passing game. But... Who cares? We don't need him to be. McSorley knows how to spread the ball around, and will have more time to throw because of the aforementioned OL.
WRs??? Deep in talent, I expect them to produce right away. Everyone one the field at the position knows the offense well except for Shorter
The growing pains I expect are defensive. LBs specifically, with them being out of position because they lack experience. DT are a concern, but not like the LBs. The other area of concern is our FG kicker. Lot of hope being placed on Pinegar
Good points Roam, I’m a little worried about the LB’s but that’s about it I think the rest of the defense will hold their own, hopefully the DL will dominate and take some pressure off the young LB’s. John Reid coming back will give some help.
