Freiermuth ranked lower than Kuntz coming out of HS is now the starting TE as a freshman. Not only did he pass Kuntz (possible RS?) but also passed three veterans; Bowers, Holland and Dalton. Impressive! In reference to another thread on Wade, I believe that this is the position that Wade and other folks saw him in at this point of his career.
From what I read, Freiermuth was the more ready of the two TE's coming in. His body was a bit more ready for the college game apparently, plus he was on campus early. Kuntz, on the other hand, needed some time to bulk up and get acclimated, though his ceiling was higher as a better athlete than Freiermuth.
But man, we are set at TE for 3 years if that's the case. Kuntz, from what I've read, if a freakish athlete in the mold of Geisiki. Something like a 110 meter hurdle champ in HS at 6'8"
