I don’t think JF is an elite coach but with the number of key guys who opted out, it’s difficult to put this loss on him. Kifflin was masterful navigating around PSU’s weaknesses today.
it will be interesting seeing how next year’s playoff schedule impacts games. I think the non playoff games will become scrimmages. At what point will sponsors pull out?

Some might say that James Franklin is a Punk Ass Bitch (PAB) and that the opt-outs are a direct result of his leadership.
Some might say that the team had a “tough” attitude when Manny D was on the staff but that attitude left with Manny D.
Was their position proven today? Maybe. It is possible that some “opted-out” because they knew what was coming.
Opt outs should be replaced with next man up without a significant drop, ideally.
@psu61 it’s next man up next year when the kids are a year older and are getting first string snaps all summer in practice. Our young kids today were thrown to the wolves and you could see it.

@psu61 not 5 at one time. Our best players didn’t play and Ole Miss best players did play and we lost. Same thing happened to Ohio St and Florida St and they got their butts handed to ‘em too. The SEC coaches do a better job getting their players wanting to play in bowl games. They don’t make ‘em play but they do something to making them want to play. The goat Joe Paterno was the master at getting his teams fired up for bowl games that’s why he won 24 of ‘em.
This just in, Maryland, without their starting QB, beat Auburn 31 to 13 and James Franklin is rumored to be a duchebag or PAB for not being an honorable man and refusing to leave a job for which he is obviously unqualified.

How bout Georgia and FSU? FSU is without 24 guys...LOL...This whole bowl thing is a joke and that is why I only watched this game and won't be watching any of the others...To me it's all a money grab and a farce...
