I'd like to ask a favor of the forum. Tomorrow we celebrate Memorial Day. Sometime tomorrow take a moment to remember those who gave their lives serving our country. Don't thank a vet, we have our day; Monday is the day we pay homage to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Remember KG from Weatherford Texas who was killed on a bridge in Hue city or DS from Pocotello Idaho who went back to aid KG and was killed too. GW, KC, LE, and good old Smitty who all died trying to take back that city one street at a time. Those are but a few of the names i remember but i can STILL see all the faces as plain as day. 50 years later and their memories still are with me. We get upset about guys kneeling for the National Anthem and forget about the young men that died in order for us to have the right to kneel and complain. Strange society we're livin in.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and indulging a tired old vet on the hardest day of the year for him.
Well said and thank you!
I agree.
So very well said and yes, tomorrow is for the departed vets.
Thank you for the post.
