"A Dauphin County jury found in favor of a fired Penn State football team doctor who claimed Nittany Lions head football coach James Franklin repeatedly interfered with his medical decisions and return-to-play decisions for injured players."
I'm surprised nobody has brought this up on here! Is this much ado about nothing, or the start of something big??? I really don't know what to make of it, but it's not good for Jimmy's rep and the perception of our program's "culture".
No idea, although I will say that Penn State Atletics and James Franklin were not the ones sued. Penn State Health was."A Dauphin County jury found in favor of a fired Penn State football team doctor who claimed Nittany Lions head football coach James Franklin repeatedly interfered with his medical decisions and return-to-play decisions for injured players."

Probably why it's not a bigger story. He won for wrongful termination.
I don’t believe James Franklin would ever put a kids health in danger to play football. His track record with football players is second to none the kids love the dude. We’ve seen players come to his defense on this it’s just not who he is. I just base my opinion on what I’ve seen and read about him since his Vanderbilt days.
I can believe it, coaches push back all the time. It's not uncommon to try and pressure a doctor to let a kid play, James Franklin certainly wouldn't be the only one to do it.I don’t believe James Franklin would ever put a kids health in danger to play football. Let's just say my wife has seen it firsthand.
The thing that I find believable is the restrictions on "spatting", i.e. taping over the outside of the shoes & over the Nike logo. Supposedly this was a provision of the Nike contract with the school to keep the Nike logo visible at all times. Shame on Nike! Follow the money!
