No you ain’t. Their own rules say conference championships and head to head did you not see that? I’m done because I have proof that I’m right if they really wanted a true championship we’d have a 8 team playoff but like I said they can’t dictate who gets in that way so they can decide where the money goes. It’s all about money and power!
Their own guidelines say those are some of the considerations they use for tiebreakers, not how each individual assesses each team. You are misunderstanding what you see.
Also, not having an 8 team playoff doesn't prove what you are saying... It proves what I am saying. I have said from the beginning that the system is what is flawed, not that the members are "scam artists". The committee did not set up the system, they weren't involved in creating the 4 team playoff structure.
They were people picked after everything was set up, placed into the system, and do the best they can to come up with 4 teams to put in the CFP. Why you continue to blame them for the system I have no idea, they are just doing the job asked of them.
I have said the entire time the system is flawed, but the committee members are just people picking team as best they can. You seem to think they are all part of some cabal intent on screwing over Penn State.
Dang it I don't want to do this!!!! But,,, Southern,
You keep saying scam committee and it's where the money goes. So look at the list below. That is the 13 members of the committee and where they are from and their position. 5 AD's, 1 professor, 5 former coaches, 1 university president and 1 former running back
So answer these questions so I can understand your logic please:
1. What do all these people have to gain by your alleged scam of bias in selecting teams
2. Other than Gene Smith, what interest or why would any of these other committee members favor OSU to be in the playoff? How does it benefit them or their university of conference?
3. You have 5 AD's from different conferences, why would they want the same 1 or 2 conferences/teams (and not necessarily their own conference) to be in the playoff every year?
4. You have 5 former coaches from Southern Miss, Vanderbilt, Va Tech, Central Michigan, a former FBS coach who spent his last 6 years as the HC of Rice. What interest or what do they gain by scamming the system and showing favoritism in picking teams or the same teams?
5. Why or what would a professor from Arizona State and or the University President from Robert Morris have to gain for scamming the picks?
6. Why would a former USC running back from the PAC 12 want to continuously pick Big 10, SEC or ACC schools to be in the playoff? Also, his only affiliation to college football is he is a former player and on the committee and nothing else.
I don't see the connection or benefit for a scam with this committee. Also 6 of the 13 members are new this past year to the committee so it has NOT been the same people all along doing the picks. Please explain the scam logic!
- Rob Mullens, Oregon AD (and selection committee chair)
- Paola Boivin, Arizona State professor
- Scott Stricklin, Florida AD
- Todd Stansbury, Georgia Tech AD
- Herb Deromedi, former Central Michigan coach
- Gene Smith, Ohio State AD
- Ken Hatfield, former FBS head coach
- Joe Castiglione, Oklahoma AD
- Frank Beamer, former Virginia Tech head coach (Beamer also has to step out when the room discusses Oklahoma, where his son Shane is an assistant)
- Chris Howard, Robert Morris University president
- Ronnie Lott, former USC running back
- Bobby Johnson, former Vanderbilt head coach
- Jeff Bower, former Southern Miss coach

Thnak you Navy
I can’t write good enough to answer all that but I’ll tell you when you come up for the Talladega race brother.
roam uses the word flawed. I looked up the word flawed just to make sure and it says unsound, defective, faulty, distorted, inaccurate, incorrect and wrong. There was 2 other words but I have enough information with these words to know this whole da g thing ain’t nothing but a scam included the committee. Billions, Billions and Billions of dollars are at stake here and the scumbags that put this crap together ain’t nothing but money hungry and they will hand pick everybody that will be a puppet for ‘em and do exactly what they say and it ain’t hard to see if you go by the word Roam uses (flawed) I call it a scam and Roam calls it flawed it’s the same thing baby. BTW I DO NOT think the games are fixed but it’s who gets in is fixed and I have proof on that as well. Roam said UCF will never get to play in the playoffs regardless what they do and so did espn so that tells you they fix it for who they want in not who deserves to get in. Teams losing head to head and not winning their conference gettin in, teams losing the last game of the season not playing or winning their conference gettin in and teams don’t even play in a conference championship game gettin in. As Roam says it’s a flawed system or what I say it’s awhile big scam. Same thing baby. Y’all done drug me back into this again lol
Sorry Roam... It is all about money.. ESPN controls it. They are in bed with the SEC conference and it is in their best interest to promote the SEC conference... Whether u guys like it or not the B1G, Pac 12 and Texas are the competition ...They either have their own network or are have an agreement with fox.. They tolerate notre dame because they are an easy win for whoever they want to make it to the finals plus they draw an audience . . The whole thing is a sham and that's why I don't watch it anymore... The bowls are a joke as well because half the upper classmen sit out due to injury concerns regarding their NFL draft status... NOBODY can give ONE reason why the FBS doesn't have the same playoff setup as the other divisions in college football and that is because there isn't one... If every other college football division has 16 teams in their playoffs there is no reason whatsoever as to why the top division shouldn't be doing the same. . It's corrupt and all about money.. PERIOD...CASE F'ING CLOSED.
OK so let’s compare:
Scam definition: a dishonest way to make money by deceiving people
Flawed: having a mistake, fault, or weakness
I have to agree with Roam, the system is flawed. The current system has faults in the method in which it selects the teams for the playoff. If it was an 8 team tournament I think those flaws would be eliminated.
I truly don’t believe these people on the committee are all in cahoots trying to purposefully deceive people or are being dishonest. I just think the method they have to use in the process for selecting the team has issues.
Now, if the committee was comprised of all ESPN network people and NCAA executives, then I would be suspicious of a money scam.
I Also don’t think UCF deserves to Be in the conversation. They don’t play anybody or quality programs on their regular schedule. They had opportunities to put P5 teams on their schedule but refuse to do so. To be in the conversation I believe they need to play the same caliber teams as the P5 programs.

I don't think you guys get that I've been saying the system is what is flawed, and the people on the committee are just doing their best.
You're tilting at windmills in this post, I never said the system wasn't terrible. In fact, I specifically said it was. What I have said the entire time is the committee does it's best with what they are given. No one on that committee is beholden to ESPN or any other school. However, they can only put lipstick on a pig, because it's not an 8 team playoff. 16 is overkill

Sorry Navy, but UCF didn't lose twice. Didn't Roam say it's pretty straight forward, if you want to make the playoff don't lose twice? I believe UCF would have loved to make the playoffs and they didn't lose twice! The committee should have put them in!

I said Power 5 conference champions can't lose twice, or at least I thought that was clear. UCF plays a terrible schedule devoid of any competition outside of Memphis or Houston. Their SoS and conference are no where near good enough to get consideration from the committee.
I've said all along that 8 would solve the problem. 5 Power conference champs, two wild cards, and 1 guaranteed group of 5 team.
I don't buy the "we should include all conference champions" argument, as if those leagues are anywhere near as good. That's just giving teams a pass to play awful teams and get into the playoffs. The Sun Belt champ shouldn't get in just because they ran the table again Troy, Arkansas State, and FIU. No.
Here's my take. There are those on this board who gripe about Nuter Lame not being in a conference shouldn't be in the picture because they are an independant, they need to join a conference yada yada yada. However, as much as it pains me to say anything good about them, they do play some quality teams on their schedule each year. UCF does not! If you want to play for a NC, play the high caliber competition that proves your worthiness to compete in the CFP. If P5 schools are changing their schedule for their non conference games on top of the already tough conference schedule they play to ensure they are competitive to get in the CFP, then UCF should adjust their schedule accordingly. Until they do that I will never believe they should be in the conversation. Do you really truly believe that if they played 2 or 3 or 4 top 10 or 15 ranked teams each year they would have been undefeated? I don't! How can you compare their schedule to the P5 schedules and say that they are worthy?

Roam, I don't believe you said Power 5 conferences are the ones that can't lose twice, but you're right, it's probably understood that's what you meant. I just jumped on UCF to make a point. That being that we aren't going to solve anything on this thread. What we need is at least an 8 team playoff, or as Funeral Director stated, " If every other college football division has 16 teams in their playoffs there is no reason whatsoever as to why the top division shouldn't be doing the same.
