A side note, we had our coaches clinic last week and in talking with the many coaches there, they all agree the portal is strange, they all want it to go away, they all said it's not a great thing, they all like early signing period, and they all believe the portal will calm itself down and be a small tool in the future....
I hope it slows down Murray because it was not fun watching some of our guys leave but we did pick up a good WR today. I guess we just need to get use to it lol

Of course, the early signing period benefits coaches and the portal benefits players to the detriment of coaches. I'm not surprised they like one and not the other...
For the record I don't mind the portal at all, as I feel kids should have a set process that allows them to weigh their options and make the best decision possible without coaches blocking transfers and other such nonsense. However, I hate that the NCAA is giving waivers away like hotcakes... they should be reserved for severe circumstances, not something like "Someone called me a name at a Football game"
