It is just one game but he looked nothing like the kid we saw at Penn State...You have to say at this point it wasn't the player it was the coaching...This is truly an indictment on the offensive coaching staff at Penn State...I know it was one pre season game but I can't believe the difference that I saw...Coaching matters...

I agree 100%.  Attached is a video of Drew's pass plays from last night's game.....

Every Drew Allar Pass in Preseason vs the Packers | 10/13 (76.9%) Comp, 153 Yards, 3 Total TDs

Then again, was this his NFL version of his West Virginia debut?

I heard he looked pretty good. I’m pulling for him. I believe all of us want him to be good because he had a big heart and tried his best let’s hope he just didn’t fit the offense AK wanted to run.

We never won any big games with DA but he did win a lot of games last years losses were on JF and Jim Knowles because DA done proved he can win 11 games and 13 games in a season.

As a life long Steeler fan that’s seen this before out of countless QB’s in the pre season wearing the Black and Gold all I can say is whoopie.

Even Kenny Pickett put up good numbers in his first practice game.

It isn't about the numbers Homer...It is about how different he looked mechanically and mentally...He just didn't resemble anything that he was at Penn State other than his arm talent...He is going to have bad games as everybody does...To me I think this kid just might make it and 8 months ago I didn't think he had a snowballs chance in hell...

The JF factor is definitely real. There was a list posted in an article not too long ago of QB’s that got screwed up at PSU while Franklin was there and it was quite impressive.

Allar has a perfect situation too... sit and learn from Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers already confirmed this is his last season, so no pressure on either guy other then mentor/mentee.

The only position group that was ever really coached well in the last 7 or 8 years was the D-Lineman...I don't think I saw any position group really developed or improve other than the D-Lineman...The QB's and WR's groups really stagnated at best and in some cases regressed under the previous coaching staff...Let's be honest in the fact that Penn State sure as hell wasn't a renowned destination for player development or player improvement...There were rare cases but they were very few and far between...I believe that is going to be the difference we see with this new head coach and his staff...These guys have the reputation for knowing what the hell they are doing and being very good at bringing players along and developing them...I am quite excited to see how they look this year...One thing I expect is to see some real hard nosed fundamental football...The one thing I failed to mention with the prior coaching staff that should have been a tell...#1 stupid penalties and by that I mean penalties for lack of discipline...#2 careless penalties...How many times did a D end jump offsides? Or an O Lineman move in key points of the game? I expect those sorts of things to be cleaned up this year and to see some real hard nosed, buttoned down football...I am getting excited boys...
