It sure as hell did and if Iowa State east works out like it did for Cignetti I will gleefully tell all of you how wrong and misinformed I was...

lol I'll reserve judgement one most everything else, but didn't want to see Grunk go.

You really have to stop talking like it was Matt Campbell's decision to let Grunk go. It's not 2010 anymore, kids don't have to ask permission to leave. Do you really think MC doesn't care that Grunk is leaving, or made a move to let him go?

To add... Grunkemeyer rumors now have him linked to Virginia Tech. If that's true I doubt there was anything MC could do to keep him.

Cignetti is now a GOD and he brought how many players from JMU?  Surely we are not going to argue that JMU had better players than IS?

Then there is the other reality.  We have a roster that is half full.  Transfers, Age outs, Recruiting class with VT.  What is the easiest, cheapest, most effective way to field a team?  Want to recruit well?  Start winning fast.  Inertia.

The Cignetti model.  Or do you prefer the Oregon/TT model?  PSU does not want that model.

Surely we can see that the roadmap is clear, retain the players that are good AND fit the culture.  Bring in players you know are good and fit the culture.  My expectation is that this team will be better than I feared AND it will not have to fight to win as many as the 2025 JF Team that was top 2 and a shoe in to make the playoffs  🤣 . Not many coaches have started with a worse situation...BOB and the new UM coach come to mind.

If it did, a top 10 portal QB wouldn't be heading to VT

If he goes to VT history suggests we may have seen his best game. 😋

If he goes to VT under JF, he's done developing, oh well, he had a good 7 weeks.

Tech plays a pretty good schedule next year inclduing; GT, Clemson, and Miami and it ain't gonna be pretty if GT keeps improving, Clemson bouces back and Miami continues on.
