The Penn State football program has found its defensive line coach. Blue White Illustrated has learned that Ikaika Malloe, an assistant with the UCLA Bruins for the past four seasons, has been chosen to lead the Nittany Lions’ defensive line moving forward.
I’m assuming D-Lynn had something to do with this hire because of his time at UCLA. If so I like MC taking some input from other good coaches that he hired.
I don't think he took any input from TS on the QB situation otherwise Grunk would notbe in the portal. Just my opinion for what it's not worth.
Im kinda wondering if TS isn’t gone after the 26’ season. If he doesnt have a heavy hand in the recruiting, Id say that’s an indicator. Mission this year was to stabilize and bring in your own people; second year is about making continued moves to support your vision; head coach sets the vision and others get in line or let go, just as with any other org. Trust is gonna play a big part with that.

Regardless he got a big fat check as well but I’m definitely wanting him at Penn St I’m about Penn St and winning football games and whoever can get this done is who I’m on board with. Terry is going to have a significant roll in the recruiting and retention of the current roster...They didn't keep him around to be a cigar store indian...He is going to be a significant part of the program and it's recruiting and player retention program...

Well maybe I was wrong with my earlier post on this thread regarding Terry...It appears there isn't much retention going on here and the roster is becoming Iowa State east...My outlook on this is beginning to change...If he thinks he is going to beat Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan and Indiana with his old Iowa State roster he is in for a rude awakening...I will reserve judgement until I see what the final roster is after the portal period but right now I am less than enthusiastic...I can tell you that QB he is bringing in from Iowa State ain't the answer...
I read somewhere in this forum that Grunk is being courted by Indiana and another B1G school...Cignetti may be the best coach in the country right now and if he wants him that should be all you need to know...Just what you need...This kid going to Indiana or another B1G school and beating your brains in for the next 2 or 3 years...My enthusiasm is waning quickly for this guy...

Well you ain't winning with Iowa State east...That is all I am going to tell ya...This kid Rocco or whatever his name is ain't the answer...I will remind you of that next season...If Grunk goes to Indiana that will be your worst nightmare cause that kid has 3 years of eligibility left...He is going to beat Penn State's brains in for the next 3 years...Are some of these Iowa State players upgrades? Sure there are a handful of them...Bring them in and I got no problem with that...But to bring in these kids and let better players walk is stupidity...You want Rocco...You got him but there are much better QB's in the portal than him and if you want to bring in a top portal QB that is better than Grunk so be it...This kid ain't as good as Grunk...That is the bottom line...You just got a downgrade at QB...
I'm not sure this is the right fit for Penn State. In 2025, USC ranks 58th in rushing defense (143.23 yards per game) and 47th in passing defense (207.5 yards per game).
For comparison, the Penn State Rushing Defense is 56th (142.54 yards per game), and the Penn State Passing Defense is 21st (184.2 yards per game).
Undersized Indiana has the 2nd-ranked Run Defense (73.71 yards) and the 18th-ranked Passing Defense (178.9 yards).
Iowa State's Rushing Defense is ranked 50th (138 yards per game), and Iowa State's Passing Defense is 64th (218.5 yards). How many of the former Iowa State defenders will transfer to Penn State?
Lynn is a fantastic D Coordinator and are quite fortunate to have brought him in...He is a top notch D Coordinator...I don't like this Iowa State east baloney...Especially with this QB move...Time will tell...
I heard Iowa St had a lot of injuries this past year on their defense and they still went 8-4. They beat Iowa. Guys I love what I’m seeing especially getting some of these dudes in the portal. Like Homer said, Becht has thrown for around 10k yards. Long term Grunk may be better but for one year Becht is probably better. MC wants the playoffs this year and he’s making moves to get it done.

Plus it's the good players, not the average ones.
@roaminglion I believe we get 10 when everything settles which is a good thing because MC knows which ones we need and after the 2025 recruiting class we definitely need ‘em. We need DLynn to get us some DT’s and a few good LB’s.
