This almost 4 weeks off for bye teams is ridiculous, get it over and done with before Spring semester starts so kids can portal if they want.

Makes you wonder what numbnuts are running the show and why is it? I get some things but others blow my mind, and taking into consderation who is calling the shots, I'm amazed that they can wipe their own ass sometimes, well, I guess they do.
I’d rather have 16 teams if teams like Tulane and JMU are getting in. I guess you could have 16 in that nobody gets a bye

IMO it is due to holding on to the old bowl system. It's time to move on from them, if the Rose Bowl is unwilling to change from a Jan 1st game then just tell them to go pound sand and do their own thing.
