We will see how much respect they give Minnesota tonight, it will be interesting. My guess is this:

1. LSU
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Alabama
5. Georgia
6. Oregon
7. Minnesota
8. Penn State
9. Utah
10. Oklahoma

I know people will freak out about Alabama still being 4th or 5th, but it really doesn't matter. Any 1 loss team from the Big Ten or Pac-12 will get in. The only 1 loss conference champs Alabama may jump ahead of is the Big 12 (Oklahoma is clearly not respected at #10) or ACC (Clemson losing this late with their schedule would knock them out).

Should we beat Ohio State, we will jump past Alabama and every other 1 loss team back into the playoff hunt. At that point, if Minnesota is still undefeated it would be LSU, Clemson, Minnesota, Penn State as the top 4. I guarantee you Alabama would not get in ahead of us if we win out.

Here's how I see it right now:

Teams that are a lock to go to CFP if they win out: LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, Minnesota, Penn State, Clemson, Baylor

Teams that need a little bit of help to make CFP if they win out: Oregon, Utah, Oklahoma - In the unlikely event Baylor wins out, the Pac-12 champ would be passed over IMO. So very likely the Pac-12 gets in, but not a lock due to the wild-card of Baylor. Oklahoma needs some help, basically the Pac-12 champ or someone else to slip. Even then they might not get it.

Teams that need a ton of help: Alabama - Quite simply they need some chaos. Sure, they will be high in the rankings, but with other conferences playing title games and highly ranked teams they will get passed in the end. If Oregon and Utah meet for the title, whichever wins will jump over the Tide. LSU or Georgia win out, that team is going. Ohio State, Minnesota, or Penn State win out? They jump Bama too. That leaves Clemson having to lose as well. The only 1 loss champ I see Bama possibly getting in over is the Big 12, as that conference is clearly not respected by the comittee with the Sooners at #10.

Teams that need absolute chaos: 2 loss Power 5's like Florida, Auburn, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc. Basically, not going to happen without an act of God. LMAO

I hope you’re right roam but I just don’t see it. IMO they say Alabama lost to LSU and penn st lost to Minnesota which as of today they have no respect for because they’re undefeated and they have the better win against Penn St. you have more faith in that crooked bunch than I do but I do hope you are right.

For some reason I can’t see what I’m typing I’ve hit something lol. Roam, I don’t think they give a rats butt about conference champs and on their defense maybe they are right because the top 5 SEC teams are better than all the teams in the PAC and probably better than all in the big 12 and ACC to except Oklahoma and Clemson. Screw the conference champs just take the top 4 and let ‘em fight it out until we can get a true playoff

It doesn't matter Southern because we'd have beaten Ohio State, and won the Big Ten if we win out. I'm telling you there is no way they'd put Alabama in ahead of us if that happens.

I pretty much nailed it, only thing different was Utah in front of Minnesota & PSU instead of behind.

My points remain, Alabama needs serious help and all we need to do in win out.

@rip

I know that’s right bob. I like Democrats aNd Republicans so I can talk politics and it  don’t bother me at all because I always pull for whoever is in charge regardless of the party  that way I’m always on the winning side. I can talk religion and not get upset because I Know JESUS is the only way so I really don’t care what other people believe I just tell ‘em the truth and let the HOLY SPIRIT handle it from there because I ain’t stepping  on dem shoes if you know what I mean lol but boy talking that CFP committee gets me so mad a can’t stand it and it’s probably because I don’t know who the best team is and if my team penn st ain’t up there I get pissed lol so I’m just going to let it play out  either and pull for us to win regardless where we end up lol

Southern, look at it this way... for the next week and a half just chill out knowing if we don't beat Ohio State we're not making it anyway.

Nothing to really worry about until after that game LMAO

CFP should be at least 8 teams in not 16. I for one am sick of the BS that it ruins the regular season. Expansion would Immediately improve Out of Conference scheduling because a conference champion would get an automatic bid. It would not hurt to play better teams if conf champs were in. ESECPN holds all the power and they run the SEC Network. Sounds like conflict of interest. And enough of the BS committee picking winners. Win it on the Field. 16 Teams 4 extra games for 2 teams.

@roaminglion

Penn States road to the playoffs has always been through Columbus from day one of this season.  The bus is still drivable with that little fender bender in Minnisota. But, if they run out of gas this weekend,  there won't be any filling stations open Sunday to help them continue their trip!

GO STATE!!!

The decision is up to the CFP Management committee, which is made up of all 10 conference commissioners and the AD from Notre Dame. If they want to expand, it will expand.

Ironically if Alabama and Clemson keep getting in, that will push ESPN to advocate for expansion and not the status quo. As many here say: "follow the money"... ratings keep getting worse for the CFP, and believe me ESPN knows why: The same teams year after year is BORING. Casual fans will not watch, and that is what drives ratings.

IMO 16 is to many teams 8 teams 5 power 5 conference champs and the 3 highest ranked teams after that. The best team is in the top 8 and they can fight it out on the field. Now I’d rather have 16 teams than the crap we got going on now but 8 would fix the problem.

I completely agree, 8 is enough as to finally get the nonsense off of "who go screwed".

*Take the 5 Power Champions - If any P5 team doesn't make it, well... should have won your conference.

*Take 1 Group of 5 Champion - Everyone knows their schedules suck compared to P5's, but putting the best one in every year would at least let the "little guys" into the championship. Yeah, there would be fighting over who is the best G5 team, but that's a lot better then... 1. None being in at all & 2. Fighting over who's #1 rather than who's #9 (first team out)

*Two Wild Card Teams - Would allow for the proverbial "eye test", which teams do people think are most deserving who dropped a game they "shouldn't" have. Most likely becomes the top 1 loss teams according to the committee... who only selects 3 teams: The G5 team and the two wild cards.

This adds at most 1 game to the schedule, and if you want you could take a game away in the regular season to compensate. Either way, it doesn't matter if a conference plays 8 games or 9, because their champion is going. All other considerations are for the 2 WC spots. IMO it would lead to better OOC scheduling, because those games don't hurt you chances to win a conference title, and possibly could bolster your record for the WC spots. Playing better OOC teams early in the year also better prepares your team for conference play.
