For the record Southern, I did look into the BET founders response to Biden’s comments. I agree with you. Biden was out of line and shouldn’t have said it. Robert Johnson, the BET founder was right to call Biden out on those comments. Here’s the difference between Biden and Trump, though. Biden owned the mistake, took responsibility for the comment and apologized for it. Trump would have blamed the media, the WHO, the Chinese, the Democrats, Pelosi, Obama, Hilary, or any number of others for it, but would have never taken responsibility or apologized. It’s never his fault.
Biden isn’t perfect. Nobody is perfect, but this country desperately needs somebody to unite us and move forward. Biden has worked with bipartisan support many times over the years in the Senate. He may be the best chance to do it again. Buried in one of the articles about Biden’s comment was information from a recent poll that showed Biden has a 92-5 advantage over Trump amongst black voters polled. I would have never guessed it’s that big of a margin. That’s incredible, if accurate. If that is the case and all of those people vote in November.......
One interesting tidbit I did find when looking into this. Johnson, the BET founder, says that the U.S. government should pay $14 trillion dollars in reparations for slavery. That topic would be a lightning bolt of controversy.
Now, the same UPMC doctor says hospitalizations are creeping up and we need to stay vigilant. Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) is seeing a escalating rise in COVID cases over the last several days.
We have to be smart. I don’t want to go back to stay at home orders.
