Man I have stunk it up this year on my card. I hit the first 5 games and ain’t hit one since lol. I hit 2 times this year so I’m way ahead but man this bowl season has been a killing me. But as long as Penn St wins I can handle it. I really look for our running game to take control of the game and I might be wrong but Utah imo just don’t match up good against us. But I also believe there’s only a few teams that do match up good against us. I didn’t really see how good we was until after the Ohio St loss and it hit me. Michigan ain’t that much better than we are we just walked into a hornets nest that game and to beat Michigan you have to be really good at QB. We’re ok at QB just not good enough to beat Ohio St and Michigan but nobody else is either except Georgia. I’m telling ya we got a dam good football team the schedule just didn’t do us any favors this year. Gettin close guys we need a good win to finish this season. It’s bow Flex Time 😂

@forum-titan I can do the bow flex, pushups and dumbbells at home. 30 minutes a day and I ain’t got to drive anywhere. I do it before I leave for work because I’m to tired when I get home. I’m fresh at 2:45 am

Wisconsin beat Oklahoma State. I believe Luke Fickell is a good fit at Wisconsin. If Minnesota beats Syracuse I believe it’s looking good for the big 10 being the best conference this year. Still a lot of games left.

Means nothing, both teams were playing with half of thrir starters not even there anymore. Ok State had a 3rd string QB throwing to backups, as did Wisconsin.

Neither team had any resemblace to what they were in the regular season. Half their teams were gone.

Have y’all seen the schedule next year? We got Michigan St, Ohio St, Iowa and Michigan in a 4 game stretch. We play umass in November and start the season with WV. You gotta have good backups today college football

Tells me Wisconsin is better than Oklahoma St because this is the way college football is today especially bowl games but all teams playing by the same rules.

It tells you nothing other rhan Wisconsin won a close bowl game with teams that will look nothing like this next year.

Oklahoma State won the Fiesta Bowl last year, didnt mean anything for this year.

sounds like recent news circulating through the cable provider.  If I lose the election, it's RIGGED! If I won, all is good 👍. I will not accept the loss.

@roaminglion  This is the new era of college football Roam you gotta have good backups because you never know what’s going to happen with injuries, coaches being fired or guys sitting out and not playing for whatever reason. I don’t know about next year but this year Wisconsin got the win so it’s fair to say Wisconsin is a little better than Oklahoma State. I have no clue about next year we’ll have to wait and see.

Nature of the beast my friend, nature of the beast. Football = injuries. It's almost like going to the gas station and asking the cashier if I put gas in my car.  Yes, I would assume Wisconsin was the better team.

Considering I'm a Big Ten fan, and not a Big 12 fan, I'm not sure why I'd purposfully downplay a win unless I truly felt a bowl game without half the starters in it was useless.

These optouts are nothing like injuries. It was extremely rare to go into bowl games without half, or more, of your starting lineup through the year. Let alone BOTH teams doing it.

I just don't see the value in equating this bowl win to anything relevant other than Wisky's backups were slightly better than Oklahoma State's backups. Southern was trying to say it had some relevance to "who the better conference is". IMO two teams playing with a shell of their regular season rosters proves nothing.

This is how it is now, if 20+ kids opted out of the game are they really the same teams?

Injuries, opt outs, whatever.  IMO, what it really comes down to is depth.  If you have a roster with quality backups. you should be able to weather the storm.

My point is that thwre ia a big difference from random injuries taking out guys through the year, and opt outs forcing half your team to be absent in the next game.

They arent the same, and no team... not even Georgia, could weather the storm of half of the starters just being gone one day. It's huge.

Heck, we couldnt even handle losing 1 player last year in Clifford. If both our running backs went down this year, you think our offense would be good?

This is different IMO

Maybe bowl games (except CFP games) should be considered as "exhibitions" and not count in the season won-lost records.

I agree with what you're saying Roam.  The point I was trying to make is, if two teams are playing each other and both are equally hurt by starters not playing (for whatever reason), the team with the better quality back ups should be in a better position to overcome their losses.

No it's not the same team. I agree with RIP.  You want to opt out, go declare. All the power to you!  That's why you have big rosters and depth. I don't understand why you have yourself so hung up on this.

Coaches pre game speech:

We have 20 opt outs. Just don't get serious about this game.  It doesn't mean anything.  There is no value to this game.  We are doomed. The fans know and some are talking about it on nitsoftheroundtable.com.

Or

We have 20 opt outs. Let's face these challenges like real men. Stay positive and let's build on what we have now. Win or lose, let's go onto the field and play like no tomorrow.
