I said when the season started it would be hard for the big 10 champ to make the playoffs. With Michigan penn st and Ohio st in the same division it’s going to be brutal for us to make it undefeated. Seems like other conferences get a pass for losing when the big 10 doesn’t. It is what it is?

It's not rocket science... The past three years the Big Ten Champion lost badly in one of their games. We got pummeled by Michigan, OSU got pummeled by Iowa, and Ohio State got pummeled by Purdue this year.

Quite simply, you can't lose like that and expect to make the CFP. Don't get blown out.

Ummm, no. Sorry southern, but losing by 23 to a top 10 team isn't close to the same as being beaten by 29 and 31 points by UNRANKED TEAMS.

As for our loss in 2016, we also had 2 losses. As did Ohio State in 2017. 2 loss team + blown out in a game = you aren't getting in. Blown out by unranked team? Yeah, you aren't getting in.

Georgia blown out by LSU this year? Guess what... Oklahoma got in and Georgia didn't.

Again, not rocket science. Trying to compare Geogia's loss to Top 10 team to Ohio State's loss to 6-6 Purdue is beyond ridiculous.

A loss is a loss IMO, I think you need to also look who did you beat. Did Oklahoma this year have the same quality wins as Georgia and Ohio st? I don’t think so and it’s not even close. Texas lost4 games and that’s Oklahoma’s best win. Gimme a break. I’m glad Georgia and Ohio st got left out I’m just looking at what’s right and having the best 4 teams in.

I love it!! OSU gets screwed two years in a row by the very same precedent that was set by allowing them in over us in 2016.

Under no circumstances could they allow the suckeyes into the playoff this year.

I disagree with the notion that a loss is a loss. You're joking if you think a loss to a #5 team is the same as a loss to a 4-8 team. Come on, they aren't close to the same.

Who exactly did Georgia beat that was better than Texas? Florida was ranked the same, and would have had 4 losses also if they had played in a title game like Texas. West Virginia is also ranked highly, and Iowa State is ranked as well.

So explain to me why Kentucky and Florida (the only ranked teams Georgia beat) are better than West Virginia, Texas, and Iowa State? Hint: It's because you are bias against the Big 12, and no matter how high those teams are ranked you will never care.

Roam it still goes down as a L. Look how close our losses were last year and we didn’t make it in. I believe we were one of the best 4 teams the last 2 years and we got shafted. This system sucks but the good thing about it is it left Georgia and Ohio State our this year. They get screwed so I’m good with it but I still don’t think it’s right.

You keep looking at things in a vacuum. Last year we lost TWICE by close games. Not once. That is why we were left out. You lose once? Don't get blown out by a crap team

at the end of the day Ohio State only has themselves to blame for missing this year's CFP. Last year, we only have ourselves to blame.

you aren't going to make it if you get absolutely hammered by an unranked team, and you are going to make it if you lose twice. End of story. That is exactly how the CFP has done things, no team that's gotten blown out by an unranked team has ever made it and no two loss team has ever made it either.

The closest exception is Ohio State in 2014 when they're starting quarterback went down and they lost the first game of the season to Virginia Tech. but of course losing urine number one quarterback, and then winning your conference with your third-stringer kind of equalizes things

The team that got the shaft was UCF. You win 25 straight football games you deserve a chance to win a national title...This is why the whole system is a sham and a farce...As I mentioned earlier I will not take part in observing this farce...Oklahoma has NO chance of beating any of those teams and that is why they put them in the playoff...They have to keep the sham alive...I dislike ole cousin Urban and Ohio State as much as anybody but the fact of the matter is if they put them in the playoff the whole system gets exposed for what it is...It's designed to perpetuate the lie that the Bama, Georgia and the SEC along with Clemson and the ACC are superior conferences...Lets not forget for a minute that ESPN is in bed with the SEC and has financial interest in perpetuating the lie...Ohio State would beat any of the teams in this playoff if they had the opportunity to play them...Once again the team from the toughest division in the toughest conference in college football is left out...The same excuse they used for years to push the SEC west holds no weight now...The whole thing is a sham and a farce...Sorry I will pass again this year...

Come on FD, UCF doesn't play anybody. They played 1 team in 2018 that was ranked #24 for 1 week then disappeared. Out of their 25 wins you keep talking about they played 1 ranked team in 2018 ranked #24 for 1 week, in 2017 they played #20 and Memphis who took them to double overtime, they did beat Auburn who was ranked #7 in the bowl game which was their only respectable win, in 2016 they played Michigan and got beat 51-14

Why do they deserve to get in over teams that play more ranked teams and higher ranked teams in 1 single year than they do over the course of 3 years.

UCF needs to join a P5 conference PERIOD! Then we can talk!!

To say they are the caliber of the top 4 or top 12 is ridiculous IMO! However great job to UCF in beating UCONN, SCST, UNC, FAU, SPITT, SMU, Memphis, ECU, Temple, Navy, Cin, USF & Memphis!

Maybe you like the 4 best teams with the best records, I don’t, I want the 4 best team regardless of record as only it’s not more than 2 losses. It’s just whatever you want. It’s jyst opinion anyway.

Exactly SPF! UCF plays a weak schedule of nobodies. Ranked 71 for strength of schedule!

https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/ranking/schedule-strength-by-other

It cracks me up when we get accused of playing cupcakes in 3 or 4 games but they play in a conference full of cupcakes and people think they should be playing in the CFP!!

They've only beating 1 top ten team in the last 3 years!

THAT IS A FARCE!!

Just stop ranking these teams like UCF if you’re not goi g to give them a chance. They’d get destroyed in the playoffs even if it was a 16 team playoff. They are in the way in the rankings for other big dawg teams to get big money bowl games.

Sorry FD, but Ohio St would not beat all of the playoff teams. ND and Oklahoma maybe, but not Bama or Clemson. Ohio St was 8 bad minutes of football from losing to PSU and 1 bad pass on a 2 point conversion from losing to MD and they DID lose to Purdue. Putting them in the playoff would have been on reputation, not current body of work. They only have themselves to blame.

Ohio State's issue wan't playing Penn State or Michigan, it was losing to an unranked Purdue and struggling with a bad Turtle team....not forgetting the struggles with Nebraska and Indiana too.

We can talk about schedules, but none of the top 4 CFP teams lost to an unranked team. I think they got it right with the top 4.

"They are in the way" !!!   Wasn't there a huge worldly conflict that took play 70 some years ago where a certain someone said that a particular group of people were just in the way?
