Under the current circumstances I think the committee did about as good as they possibly could.
The whole thing is a farce and for the 2nd straight year I won't be watching... UCF wins 25 games in a row and isn't in... That's all u need to know... I don't know why they even bother going through all these ridiculous machinations and just say who they are gonna put in before the season starts .. It's the same garbage every year...
FD, if UCF was in a power 5 conference do you think they would have 25 wins in a row?
Calm down FD my brother lol, we all know this committee is a scam.
If they played in the big 12 they probably could brother lol. This whole system is pure crap. Big 10 champ gets left out 3 straight years.

Nah, they wouldn't Southern. Kinda need to get off this kick where you think the Big 12 sucks, they were 5-3 in bowls last year with wins over the SEC, Pac-12, and ACC. Two years ago they were 4-3 with 2 wins over the SEC and 1 against the Pac-12.
Come on now, they are beating teams like Auburn, Georgia, etc. in bowl games the past two years and you are talking like UCF would walk through them like swiss cheese. Enough is enough
Kudos to THE CFP Committee; they got it right, as they usually do..Its always going to be debated when you squeeze 4 teams out of 129...But when three emerge undefeated playing a power 5 schedule, its game set, match..
So, the 4th spot is reserved for best 1 loss team, yes Kirby, one loss...Oklahoma clearly the winner, going as close to undefeated as you can get, avenging their only loss, by double digits..
Back to Kirby, quit your whining and be happy youre in Sugar Bowl...Within a year, you've just choked away two double digit second half leads in title games, hope you're listening Herbstreit..No third chances in this system..Give Oklahoma, and Clemson/ND winner a shot at the throne..
The bottom line is that only four teams get in and and as long as it remains this way 90% of college football fans won't be happy.
I still say the committee did as good as It possibly could under the circumstances.
I agree Roam. While I applaud them for their win loss record, in the last 3 years they have only played 4 ranked teams 2018 #24 Cincinnati, 2017 #20 Memphis who took them to double overtime and their most notable win over Auburn in last years bowl game.
I don't see how you hold them in the same conversation as the top 4 this year with the schedule each of them played!
UCF #24 Cincinnati who were in the rankings for 1 week and disappeared
Alabama #3 LSU, #4 Georgia, #16 MSST, #22 TA&M all of which are still in the top 25 as of today
Oklahoma # 19 Texas lost by 3, #13 WV, #14 Texas of which are still in the top 25 as of today
Nuter Lame #7 Stanford, #12 Syracuse, #14 Michigan, #24 VT of which 3 of the 4 are still in the top 25 as of today
Clemson #16 NC State, #17 Boston College which are no longer ranked but Syracuse & TA&M still are at 19 & 20
So lets drop down to our CFP #12 Nittany Lions, #4 OSU, #5 Meatchicken, #18 Iowa of which 2 of the 3 are in the top 7 CFP
To say they are the caliber of the top 4 or top 12 is ridiculous IMO! However great job to UCF in beating UCONN, SCST, UNC, FAU, SPITT, SMU, Memphis, ECU, Temple, Navy, Cin, USF & Memphis!

I agree that under the circumstances they did as good as they could. That said, I still would have liked UCF in there at #4.
Put up or shut up time for the Group of 6. Play well and get respect, get hammered and maybe it's a long while until a lower conference team gets any respect again.
I think once UCF'S QB went down any chance of them being considered came to an end.
The thing that irks me the most is that ND gets in the easy way.
If UCF beats LSU in the Fiesta Bowl then I think you have a great post argument but I don’t think they belong. I never got over BYU winning a NC in 1984 with a bowl victory over a weak 6-5 Michigan team.
So with this current lineup - if they went to 8 teams, who would fill the #5, #6, #7, and #8 spot.
I say OSU, Georgia, Michigan, and UCF!

Replace Michigan with Washington because they won a Power 5 conference

Under an 8 team playoff I'd think all P5 Champs get automatic berths. So IMO it would be Bama,Clemson,OSU,Wash,OK + 3 at large ND,UCF, and either GA or meatchicken
FD, if UCF was in a power 5 conference do you think they would have 25 wins in a row?
You think if ND was in a p5 they'd be undefeated? At least UCF isn't afraid of competing in a conference and it was probably the best conference that would accept them at the time.
Why? They are undefeated, ain’t it about not getting beat? If this scam ain’t going to give UCF a shot then stop ranking them because they are in the way.
I believe UCF would get killed in the playoffs
I would agree with you on that BOB
That’s exactly why these crooks can’t be trusted lake
C'mon now, that's laughable ..ND would have rolled thru many conferences this year, undefeated..ND beat 10 power 5 teams..Take the big 10, which was abominable this yr..ND beat two of the best teams in UM and NW..Conferences are easier to navigate than ND's schedule..Most conference teams schedule 3 cupcakes OOC, maybe one good team..Then throw in the conference bottom feeders, OSU and UM in their good years, start with 9-10 guaranteed wins..THat's why those two teams, historically have dominated the conference..
Look at powerhouse Bama this yr...OOC slate, Louisville, Ark ST, Louisiana, Citadel, plus a weak SEC..Guaranteed 10-11 wins right off the bat..
ND's schedule's included historical powerhouses, UM, FSU, USC....Those are scheduled yrs in advance, so not ND's fault latter two had down yrs...And in down yrs, those two teams have more talent on field than most of BIg 10..Did any conf team's schedule include three powerhouses like that, I doubt it very much..
If the conferences are really irritated ND doesnt play in a championship game, easy solution, scrap them..They serve no purpose, are obsolete and are played only for greed, just as conferences post season basketball tourneys have become...Every favorite won yesterday, what did they prove...nothing..
Hey Navy, All I know is that UCF has won 25 straight football games and beat the team in a bowl game that beat the "mythical" national champion in the last regular game of the season ..My question is why have them in Division 1? Furthermore I don't understand why these non power 5 conference teams don't create their own division to play for a national championship... This system is a farce...
I agree. UCF gets the boot again. Last year they beat Auburn, this year they play LSU. Look out if the beat LSU. A big stink should be made and a BIG stink.
You are right Steaky and I think they will beat LSU...The SEC got their ears kicked in last year during the bowl season and I think they are going to get exposed again as a sham...I don't give a flying rip what conference your in if you win 25 straight football games and are a division 1 program then you should be in the playoff...PERIOD...STOP...CASE CLOSED...When they kept UCF out of this thing for the 2nd season in a row they were exposed for the sham and farce that it is...
